What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Not necessarily today.. but I finished installing my Dobinsons kit a couple days ago. Still need to do some finishing touches (secure parking brake line somehow, and spray paint the chipped paint on the leaf springs so they don't rust too quickly).


Last night I installed the R4T tailgate power lock. Seems to work fine. I initially had issues because some of the connectors were flimsy and when the two connectors touched, they would complete the circuit before it got to the actuator. Once I figured that out, I just wrapped them individually with some electrical tape and it seemed to work consistently then. Just happy I don't have to whip the key out every time I want to open my tailgate.

 

I think that's the one I saw in the past on Amazon. Not sure the difference in light output. May not be many options out there. Appreciate the info.

 

Drove it 300 miles. Looking a bit dingy.

 

Installed Meso map and dome lights!! These puppies are Bright!! I am going to change them as soon as the duals become available. But I love the light output!

I was thinking the same thing. Simply extending the top bracket and add a rivnut would make it nearly pain free. Drilling into a brand new hood is always nerve-racking.

 

Nope, just changing tires won't affect your alignment. Even changing the offset won't have much of an effect, if at all. Wait until you start messing with the suspension itself.

Did that immediately after I bought my truck, had 30k mi on it. Went with ravenol for the Tcase, damn Toyota gear oil was expensive. Still dragging my feet on doing drain and fills for the tranny. Already bought the redline ATF. Just have to do it.

 

I'm still have my original OEM battery on my 2017. Guess I've gotten lucky. Pretty much drive it every day. Not sure if that helps or not. Guess I should knock on wood as I probably just jinxed myself.

 

where I live we experience -40 for weeks on end during the winter, I’m sure that doesn’t help. That being said my wifes Hyundai Santa Fe went 6yrs before I changed the battery on precaution not fault.

 

Did you use custom pid's for oil & gear? My scanguage is about 4 y/o I dont have those.

 

Yikes that's cold. Gotta be tough on batteries. 6 years is fantastic. I'm positive I won't see that.

You need the latest firmware version. You can send it in and have it done, cost isn't much and then the functions are in the x-gauge and you'll need to enter the codes for those. They are also on the scangauge website.

I just had mine upgraded in Canada, the US gets a flash of the new firmware, Canada gets a new circuit board with the latest firmware and while he was in there he noticed the backing coming off my screen, so he also replaced the screen. Great service. I have mine set for the 2 transmission temps, water temp and charging volts.

Nice! I love Eagles. My dad had an Eagle Vision when I was growing up and I haven't seen another Eagle in person since I was 5. All Eagle cars basically vanished

 

Today I modified the MESO Hex Rack Sunroof to fit onto my access cab. Just had to flatten out the bend in the front till almost flat then I made some brackets for the rear mount location. Now just have to clean it up and paint the brackets to match.

 

Rigged up an old trunk net from my car as a hammock over the back seats. Works nice for jackets and towels light items…

 

Looks like we had similar goals today lol
