ABS Code help

Been lurking here for a while and cant find any info on the problem I am having. We got some snow here in Colorado the last couple days and with that i have a very sudden ABS light. When read the codes it shows are C0226, C0246, and C0256. I cant find much of any info on the cause of those codes. This is the weird part. Every time I start my truck there no codes or lights. i make the abs engage it works fine. After the brake is released i get the lights and lose ABS. i turn the truck off and on and no light and have ABS. Anyone ever delt with this?

 

Well, the C0226 is for the Brake Actuator.
The flow chart is short and sweet. (Seriously)

Clear Code, Drive truck.
If code persists, Replace Brake Actuator.

I don’t have any info on the 0246 or 0256 codes.
Maybe someone else can help there.

It’s the same diag.

Clear codes, if they come back on.
Replace Actuator.

I know that doesn’t help, but that’s what it says

 

That seems to be the case but I'd still recommend checking powers and grounds at the ABS ECU before replacing it.

 

ABS ecu code I always check for power and ground to the module itself. C0226 is always the module though, it means its awake to announce that it's dead.

Otherwise it would be a U0### code.

 

Absolutely, I thought of that.
But to be honest, I didn’t mention it because I honestly didn’t want to have to provide diagrams and pin outs. It’s been a long day. Let’s just say Water+Attic. We’ll leave it at that.

 

Yeah, I saw that there was a code for relay or something.
So, I figured it was “dead”.

I believe the codes for power failure are 0273/74 and 0278/79?
