cool idea...but seems like a hassle to have the arm rest up to use your charging ports?

And man, i would never give up that storage. Holds a lot of handy things.

I agree, mine holds about 50-60 prehistoric music Cd's. I think they're on the endangered species list.

Lol... I have other spots to store the guns.

I already have 3 double USB charging ports in the dash + the stock cig lighter + I put a cig lighter on one of the switches faced out the back of the console (for the fridge)

Those chargers are primarily only for use when in camp.

I like the idea of that spot, but i dont like the idea of flipping the console up to hit switches

Totally get how the switch panel location wouldn't be for most people.

But my thought process was: I pretty much use that cubby to store a bunch of shit... just random crap. Totally not worried about loosing that space.

As for having to flip up the arm rest. None of the lights those switches control are legal for use on the road. The lights will be predominantly used while stationary, in camp. The side lights might be used for some night wheeling, but they'd be switched on and left on, and the arm rest can come back down, it's not something I'd need repeated access to.

All in all, they came out exactly how I hoped they would.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I bought a police car center console and the accompanying arm rest so I could have real cupholders (are you really a cop without coffee and a donut?) and good space to install radios and switches.
