for the front shocks which springs did you use?

In the rear, is the ride miles improved or only a little bit?
I've heard to truly improve it, people not only put a good shock (such as that) but also replace the entire leafpack, or even the hangers it mounts to.

I ordered the fronts built with matching Bilstein springs.

I really haven’t driven it more than 10-15 miles yet. I finished up last night and will be getting it aligned in the morning so I can’t really comment on that yet.

If the Icon add a leaf winds up not working out I’ll definitely look into other options. I don’t think replacing the leaf pack is too hard, but I haven’t looked into it. I imagine I could knock it out though

Started fitting the 1ur on sunday. Holy shoe horn, it fits but the long tubes are going to need some denting but other than that it fits pretty well, the cd009 is a very long trans and even a front mount shifter is pushing being to far to the rear. Going to need some massaging but at least I don't have to be cutting and plating crossmembers.

Looks great under the hood. Can you describe how you dealt with the factory terminals? Did you cut them off and replace?

I appreciate it. The positive terminal just hooks up to the SDHQ terminal. For the negative the kit came with a connector that you cut the factory wire and screw it in and it tightens the connector as you screw it. I didn’t like how it looked or how strong the connection was. I crimped my own connector on with some heat shrink for that one. I then ran a separate wire to the body ground.

It was an excuse to buy a new tool also for the crimping of that guage wire. Got a hydraulic crimper from Harbor Freight and it worked great.

Couple disclaimers. I live in Canada where the parts are more expensive, and I had to get it from the dealer since I needed things back together within 2 days. The bar and all the hardware were about $290 CAD before tax, from the dealer.

But I’m sure you could shop around and get an aftermarket bar for cheaper. Say in the $150 ballpark

I have a Gen2....10+years ago I upgraded for a remote start alarm system w/shock sensors... If anybody were to jiggle my truck the alarm would go off & my key remote would let me know... It’s worked from two city blocks away definite peace o mind #viper
You can set the sensitivity and I’ve never had any issues with it going off when it shouldn’t have. It will however if my tailgate is carelessly opened, somebody jumps in the bed, open/closes a door, or were to bash a window. (Nobody would ever expect it to have one- so they aren’t going to carefully open the gate like a sloth and avoid it alarming..js. It’s fairly foolproof)

Which viper alarm did you go with? I’ve been wanting to get remote start and an alarm for mine.

I’ve seen a lot of people tie them directly into their DRL. Not sure if this is how OP did it or not

We had a 60° day last week, so I did an oil change. I always write on the filter the mileage/date and type of earl used.. I saw that it was last done in April of '21 at 95K. I am at 106K so it went 11 K and it looked like it.

Just in case anyone is curious, putting the 1/8" HDPE board behind the molle panel really dulled the road noise from the vent in the cab. Like to the point where it's not something I need to blast the stereo to not hear anymore. Now I need to develop a couple of stand-offs so I don't have to take the entire molle panel off to fit new stuff to it, because I just added a flat backer to it vs the void it had prior.
