Same here… the wife does get a free day tho and that normally translates into a Chick-Fil-a breakfast for me so I can’t complain hah.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Apparently not for all. One of five of 20 in the office.

New year, new steering wheel. Thanks @Darkgoatracer for including it with the purchase. Looks great and the swap was easier than I had anticipated. 20211231_135921.jpg 20211231_135900.jpg

Get back from our 9 day trip out south west and find that our gas heater stopped working (in the same time span) right before the biggest snow storm in years….

    Random question…
I have a gas fire place that still works but so I know I’m getting gas. It’s an electric starter. We’ve restarted the thermostat, breaker box and went under the crawl space and reset the heater (which I’m thinking should’ve lit if working) although I’m not sure. Any other ideas before I pay $99 “diagnostic” fee and make some poor fella drive out in 7” of snow to make a simple repair?

    wanna be mods
Put in a wood burning insert!!

I know gas fireplaces can become big repair jobs after only a handful of years (or less) without constant use and maintenance/parts upkeep (from my parents and coworkers perspectives).

My philosophy on areas I'm not certain of, if I can't figure the basic quick fix, is pay the service call. It's cheaper and faster than trying to recover from mistakes made in areas I don't know about. Can you use the fireplace for heat in the meantime?

Good advice, they are set to come tomorrow (not running now due to snow). I was thinking I could try and figure it out in the mean time. We have the fire place on but it seems to be more for show than heat. I think we’re gonna make a trip to the in-laws or maybe just drive around in the truck for heat haha.

Head out the campfire, set up the tent with the heater, call it a night. Or have you had enough of the tent for a few days?

I had falken wildpeaks and they were really good in the inclement weather. The p rated versions supposedly have higher silica content than the LT, which makes them a bit better for cold weather. I had the p rated ones (bought 2nd hand) and took them off road several times without any popping issues, but always had me a tad scared of a failure.
