I do all my driving between 2000 and 3000 rpm, what am I missing?

Shiiiiiit….mostly drive mine from 1100-2000.

 

Perhaps.... 6,500 with a tune... that 1-2 at WOT is wonderful with the higher RPM's.

Very rarely do i see 2,500 on my tach. Most of the time is 1400-2k.

Nah....something isn't right.

Something is preventing the trans from the higher gears.

My 1GR-FE with the AT runs at about 2000 rpm at 70 mph. But my truck is stock. No big tires, no lift, no regear........

I would expect your engine to run a bit higher revolutions because of smaller displacement, although 2.5X more is a bit much. Even the 4 popper shouldn't be spinning that quick at 70 mph.

What have you done for modifications to the truck??

Not exactly "D". The trans is limited to either 3rd or 4th depending on shifter position. This is pushing the engine speed up.

 

It's not in S mode.
Nor is ECT on!

 

Do you remember if you downshifted before this?
3rd gen has a weird algorithm(suspect it has to do with vsc control module or ACIS). If you downshift at high speeds (>65 mph) and try to maintain higher speeds, it won't upshift to a higher gear.
Only solution is to select S and upshift manually or drive in S6.
When I was trying to resolve his with the tune software, I reached speeds over 90 stuck in 4th and it did not upshift. Changing numbers in the app don't do anything.
I saw similar issues being stuck in 3rd.

you must live where it’s very flat.

That being said 5.29s and 35s are a great combo. Around town it holds gear and I was cruising around at 35 at 1100 rpm or so.

You're missing things to worry about, don't create problems that aren't there.
