I am contemplating getting a .338 Lapua mostly just because, but damn that ammo is expensive!

It’s currently 25$ for 50 22lr rounds at our local stores, 50$ for 500 but they’re never in stock. 10$ for 6 20 gauge slugs.

If you've got over a 1k yard range to stretch it out, and plan to add a good optic to do so, then go for it! I wouldn't buy just to impress the folks at the 100 yard range, but that's just me.

While definitely not 16-20 prices, ammo prices seemed to have stagnated and look to be at beginning of the year prices. Keep in mind, many places bought at really high prices and need to move at that price or take it in the shorts to match and move,,,, if they can afford to, which I'm assuming most small shops cannot.

I haven't had any issues with it but a former coworker says the same about it. He said he bought some years ago, bulk, and about 1 in 5 were duds.
I did do accuracy test in couple of my rimfires and found Federal to be best between Remington, CCI and Winchester. Just my results with run of the mill 22 rifles.
I mainly like the case because they're reusable for easily taking a couple hundred rounds along

I had a box of the winchester white bulk box...one in 5 or 7 shots was a dud. Threw box out after about third magazine load that had issues...

Agree for sure, but I've recently seen fresh stock being put out on shelves with prices that make me walk away.

Online is where it's at, while not a killer price it was at least under $20 a box.

With a big red tag that said our best deal, every other 9mm there was well over $1 a round. I promptly left.

I can’t find anything in my area in any caliber I need ha.

Totally agree. I have a range I can go to that has a 1000yd target area. More interested in getting into more long range shooting.
