Any photos of the 21.5 installed over a Tacoma softopper? If it hugs it really tight, I may go this route. Just got an alu-cab rtt and looking for rack options for softoppers.

Any thoughts on something like this rack?

    https://www.discountramps.com/truck/ladder-rack/p/CAP-RACK-ALUM/

Not as stream-lined as other custom ones, but still functional and aluminum. Adjustable too, so it can transfer to another truck. Maybe wouldn't trust it long-term for something like a RTT but could be a good budget option for kayaks, cargo box, etc.

That looks like a good rack. But I would question how it would attach to a Tacoma. The weight is spread out only in four small areas.
Perhaps a full bed length piece of 1/4" aluminum or steel plate would be needed to spread the weight of the top of the (thin) bedrails. I have that sort of setup and have never had a problem.

Lol. My fibreglass topper has the same rating. Why bother...

Our TOPPER Max rack is designed to fit over a Softopper, which cannot carry any load on its own.

Wondering about a rack that would go over a softopper to hold a Yakima cargo box for skis. Doesn't have to be as beefy or have the capacity of a rack for RTTs (or as expensive). Any ideas?

I don't think any manufacturer would make such a thing. They kinda all get built to carry tents.

Yakima makes what I'm looking for, but not compatible with the Softopper.

The Yakima Overhaul w/sidebars is their top carrier but not Softopper compatible.

Right. Looking for something similar that is compatible. Maybe a roof rack over the cab? Wouldn't look great, but would get the job done.

Only real drawback for me is 14+ week wait times. But it's been 12 weeks since and you pay for quality... Also IMHO the best looking and adjustable one out there.

I totally forgot about this one. Thx for sharing.

I really want to snag a topper rack and roof rack that look decent together and will sit flush. This takes some of the pain of that away since it’s so configurable.

We offer a few different heights with our Softopper rack.

The 21.5" height will clear the topper, and it will be flush to the cab.

The 24.5" height will be flush to the top of most roof racks.

All racks are in stock and ready to ship.

Anyone found options for an easily removable/slidable rack that’s compatible with the Softopper? I need to be able to use the truck for dump runs and mulch/dirt/rock from time to time
