Spyder halo headlights wiring

Hey, I just got my truck back from my husband, who has been using it for many years, and I'm starting the process of doing several upgrades to bring my baby back to her deserved glory. 2010 4-door V6 with short bed. I've ordered LED halo projector lights from Spyder Auto but I'm wondering if anyone has gotten these lights before and has tips for the wiring? I know that I have to splice into the running lights and blinker lights from the original harness, but I'm a little unsure of the proper way to do it. Ive already replaced the tail lights and they look amazing. I'm getting ready to install the fog lights and a new carplay digital stereo. Lots of upgrades and replacements need to be done, and I can do most of them myself, but for this particular task I'd like to get some feedback from experience.

 

Get a multimeter and set it to read 12 or 20v. Unplug one of the blinkers. There should be 3 wires. One is ground, one is +12v daytime running, one is blinker 12v. Touch the ground probe from the multimeter to your chassis or battery ground. Probe the other 3 wires from the vehicle with the truck's daytime light on. The one that shows 12v will be your dtr. Turn your blinker on and repeat. The last wire will be ground. Splice your headlights into those wires using wire taps. Wrap up your harness with electric tape to protect from moisture.

 

Revelations, Do I need a CCFL power converter?

 

No idea. If you link to the product you bought, it would help. I don't think you should if it just requires a 12v source.

There's an illustrated installation pdf close to the bottom of the page. The lights will probably come with the same instructions.

 

They did, the problem is half the I strictions include the converter and the other half don’t

 

Looks like the ccfl will require an inverter.

 

I looked up mine for the heck of it and they specifically say I DON'T, so take that for what it's worth.
