Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

The units that are reporting that they do not work have another type of connector, I do not know if it is too much to ask, could you give a continuation trace of the obd2 pins to the HUD board?

 

I just bought a set of the door handle lights from ktjo last Thursday and got it today…

I didn’t see this thread until just now… yikes.

 

Amazingly, those seems to have been fairly free of issues...as long as she sent you the correct color that you asked for. Hopefully, they'll work out OK.

 

Because you never know when ordering something from KTJO (as I'm still waiting for the correct mounting hardware for my grab handle). This is the only wiring harness it comes with, correct? The one that's already installed on the actual unit.

 

That one are repoted not working but you could never now test it

I haven'tgotten any further communicationfrom them since the "there are issues with the 18+... a new harness is required and is on its way to us" us was not identified.. us us... or them us... (if you've had any dealings with "them"... you will understand.

 

Sorry I'm alittle busy to dissemble the HUD at the moment.

 

I understand and thank you but if someone has one working it would be of great help. I think it is the combination of the cables in the OBD2 port

 

You have a 2017 and have CONFIRMED that yours is working properly, correct?

 

This thing looks waaaaay too complicated to be a simple “just plug it in to the OBD port and we’re good to go” type of gizmo.

 

So, the HUD is not working. The unit powers up when I plug it in, but turns off in 12 seconds. Nothing happens when I drive.

Waiting to see if they follow through with the "fix" a new harness for 18+ trucks.

 

Wow. I would’ve bought the hud had I not already purchased the drivers side handle. Which I do like and use all the time. Can’t wait to see the b pillar fiasco unspool. Would like those for my kids.

 

I got a plug and plug tailgate lock from them. It stopped working in less than a year and they didn’t respond to dozens of communications…emails, voice mails, social media, messenger. When they finally did respond to social media blasts, like they announce a release an I comment they suck at communicating ( something I hate to do), they would say something like we have had system problems and to email and they will take care of me. Never heard back. Nothing resolved. It was great while it lasted, but they truly suck.

Hopefully a pop and lock will replace their ram. I would advise not doing business with them. I’m pissed I spent so much time trying to give them a chance.

 

Thank god it doesn't have the high complexity of a top and bottom plastic bolt cover that is held in by friction tabs.

 

In fairness, those little covers/tabs are problematic in the OEM grab handle as well. Many have broke during the famous tweeter mod.

 

I highly recommend the OEM tailgate lock actuator. Very nice quality and an easy install... true PnP.

 

I too got the grab handle but with no install hardware. When I purchased it I did it on a 4 payment method through Shop.com. Made two payment and since they have not responded to any of my messages, emails and FB messages, I deleted all of my payments types in Shop.com so my next payment will not go through. I hope so. Also contacted shop.com/affirm of the issue.

I also did purchase the door handle pods and so far so good with them. It was a no issue purchase and install. Let's hope they keep on working...

 

FYI, removing the pins and color coordinating the wires did nothing for me. The unit didn't even power up. Pins are going back to the original mismatched color configuration.
