So Saturday when I was pressing the wheel bearing/hub my roommate (not the female one but the male one that doesn’t pay utilities and is late on rent) came strolling in the garage uninvited.

I kept working and try to ignore him while also making sure he doesn’t touch anything. At this point I’m removing the snap ring from the spindle to get the old bearing out. Sometimes you have to press back down on the old bearing to back it off a bit for the snap ring removal. Once I determined the snap ring wasn’t coming out without this he tries to grab the snap ring pliers from my hand and says “all you’re trying to do is get that thing out?!”. I keep the pliers out of reach like I’m holding something from a child and say “no thanks bud” because he hates it when I talk to him like that. But that’s the behavior he keeps showing. It’s like living with a 15 year old with a huge ego.

I’m pretty quiet about this stuff and won’t flex my (very limited) mechanical knowledge because I’m nothing special. But it’s really upsetting when people that know even less than I do act like I’m clueless.

Needed someone to help torque the lock nut down to 203 ft lbs (hold the 4 pin socket down from slipping out) later on but I didn’t ask him.

Hey guys. random tech question here. Im getting a hard squeal when I start my truck up. mainly when cold. I know its one my belts. is there a way to identify which one I should replace? Or should I just do all 3? And all 3 are AC, Alternator, and Power Steering right?
