MESO Total Tail Light Kit

FINALLY bought something FROM Meso..lol. I have a bunch of Meso stuff, but got it all from the BST forum.

Ordered total tail kit this morning, Merry Christmas to me!

 

Arrived, going on the truck this weekend.

 

Mine is arriving today!

 

What the verdict on load resistors? Do we need them if my truck came with factory led headlights and fogs

 

My 2021 with factory LED’s didn’t require them. Not sure if having the meso mirror directionals made a difference or not. I installed them first.

 

I installed last week (2021 w/ factory LED head/fog). Plug & play, no hyperflash, no resistors.

 

99% of the time you won't need them. But every truck and customer LED configuration can very. Worst case, if you do experience it, will not hurt anything and can install the resitors at a later date.

Just installed the stage 1 on my 2021 OR (my truck has stock LED headlights and fog lights)...no resistor needed on mine. Works just fine, no erratic flasher. Took a whopping 4 minutes to install. Hardest part was getting the white/amber light out of the slick Meso packaging!

I also got a free Army Green MESO sticker for my MGM Taco..lol

No worries man, I was just stoked to get the lights so quickly! I ordered them on Christmas morning. Stickers go on my tool box in the shop!

 

The only issue I found with mine is that I get hyperflash when I'm in reverse... and I have absolutely no idea why. It would only manifest itself during parallel parking, and hyperflash in that situation isn't really a bad thing.

 

I'm going to have to try that on mine tomorrow and see what happens!

 

To be fair, reverse is where the hyperflash occurs, if at all

 

21 SR here, I hyperflashed when actually using the turn signals. Can't remember if it also happened in reverse, but likely did. A pair of load resistors did the trick though

 

Installed just now, no hyper flashing yet on my 2020 SR. This mod is also wife approved since she drives the truck during the winter and likes how much brighter the brake lights and flashers are now. A nice safety feature worth the money.

 

It's weird how some trucks get the hyperflash and others don't. Also baffled why mine only hyperflashes in reverse. I wonder if it's the dual mode bulb switching from white to yellow and throwing off the flasher, or if the amperage on the circuit drops in reverse (the two use a common hot don't they?)

 

common ground. So the reverse circuit is carrying the mail and the turn flashy signal doesn’t detect the load.
