Do you have a quick link to what you did to swap to the updated front end? I remember talking to you about it at a wheeling meet in Kentucky in like 2014 or 2015 and vaguely remember there being some issue with doing it while having a steel bumper.

Or if you can just tell me what the issue is with the steel bumper that would be great too.

 

I believe you need to change the hood, grill, headlights and fenders to swap a pre 2012 to the 2012+ front end. Also post 3 and 8 in this thread have good pictures in the difference in aftermarket bumpers

So 2.5 Gen headlights fit on top of the 2 Gen bumper cover? I thought the whole front sheet metal and plastic had to be changed. Hmm.

 

I can't speak to that because I don't have a stock front bumper. I know the 2012 stock bumper is different. There's a few folks on TW who've done the complete 2012 conversion but I can't recall the screen names.

Hi Weesa!! Been a hot second… I’ve been doing the same thing, just not as cool “recovering photograpy”
This is pretty cool, pretty sure last time we hung out Homer was talking about this. (I Could be wrong, not sure how many times he’s been out).

 

That’s the trip that made me go “full retard” into building my truck.

Prior to this I hadn’t been exposed to RTT’s at all.
