    Hi there,

I’ve tried to do some investigation before posting this but I can’t find an answer..

my panel that lights the fan/heater control (like has the meter for temp and how low or high)SEE PIC and heated seats stopped working yesterday. I can feel heat at the vents but no fan. Heated seats don’t work either.
I found that the 10 amp IGI No. 2 fuse was blown and replaced it. (It blows again immediately I think, or at least when the truck turns off and back on. SEE PIC This gave me my panel lights back but it doesn’t turn on fan or move the temp or fan up or down. Heated seats are at the highest bar but don’t turn on. The “outside temp” reads E (for error I assume). SEE PIC This mean I have no heat or defrosting options in the middle of a very cold winter= emergency for me! Can’t get into the dealership until Thursday and I can fix a lot of stuff myself.

Question is: is this the heater relay on the passenger side? Or is there another fuse I should replace under the hood? Or???

    Thanks in advance!! I’m freezing

    Try this:
Identify the 20A seat heater, remove it.
    upload_2022-1-3_21-35-39.jpg
Verify 7.5A is fine and test the A/C for heat.

If these are the fuses inside the cab I tried the 20A heated seats one and it was fine. I’ll check the other one though. If this is the fuses under the hood, I will check!

...Remove the 20A for the seat heater. Check for heat on the A/C.

Are you sure you pulled the right one? The words for the fuse are under the slot. So you might e pulled to sunroof one. Noticed you circled the one fuse but gave the wording for the one above it

We need to remove a circuit from the equation. The Seat Heaters are known to be a fail.
Verify that and we can proceed to next step.
And there's the issue of the fuse doing its job (7.5A)
    Or not...:burp:

Ugh sorry you’re right! I labelled that 10A wrong in the post (fixed it) but yes I pulled the correct 20A for seat heater and the 7.5 A is still intact. With the seat heater fuse out and the 7.5A fuse good, I get the same: no panel display, no fan and the seat heaters still don’t work :(

The removal of the 20A was to disable the Seat heater without affecting the 7.5A system it shares.
    upload_2022-1-4_2-17-58.jpg
This be the fuse in the engine bay and relay to the heater.
Verify if the fuse is not blown. The relay would need to be removed to verify proper function of it.

Nope! But it’s been very cold here for weeks (as low as -17C) which is unusually cold so I’ve been using the heat, heated seat and defrosters at full blast for a few weeks.

Do you know how to test it? Bummer you had to remove the cover....

I just YouTubed how to test one and I don’t have a multimeter. I have a circuit tester only. I also saw that you can try replacing it with another relay of the same type but I don’t see another relay that has the exact same words/numbers on the sides. The others are grey covers instead of blue as well, so I didn’t want to chance it. Are they interchangeable?

Place very small wire (+) from battery to either pin, on remaining pin place small wire to ground. You should see and hear it click.
    upload_2022-1-4_2-47-14.jpg
Unfortunately that's the only 5 pin of that size.

These are the circuits the 7.5A IG-No. 2 feeds.

You'll need to get a DMM to continue.
Testing the connector to the A/C control and heater blower requires it.
