I know I'm replying to a really old post, but I just found it and it resonated with me.

I also find very little difference in the on-road ride quality of my upgraded suspension, but I do notice a difference off-road at high speeds. But that is exactly what I expected from off-road shocks.

I was a bit disappointed with the high speed off-road performance. I didn't expect my truck to handle like a dirt bike or UTV., but I was hoping for a bit more than what I got. I guess there is only so much can that can be done with ~9" of suspension travel and leaf springs while still maintaining some ability to do normal truck stuff.

Tuned shocks would make a difference

It's been a while since I have been on the forum. Mine are in and I love them. I got the 700lb springs, since I got the full RCI steel skids and steel sliders. Also gonna get steel bumpers front and back. The truck currently sits about 1 inch higher in front and most of the lean has been fixed. There is 1/4 inch difference in the front and 3/4" in the back. When I extend the suspension in front I will level it at even or maybe slightly higher on the driver side, this should mostly do away with any lean. The ride is so much better than stock. It soaks up all bumps including nasty speed bumps. haven't hit trails yet though.

Right now I am only running 265/75/16's but will be going with 285's on TRD pro rims, so when that happens I will finish lifting the truck to around 2.5"

As you guys can see, the front is very little lift. The rear is an add a leaf, for about 1.25" more lift. I will go with a leaf pack this summer when I lift the front. Just anted to keep the rake when I installed the lift.

The front looks very tall actually. You will likely not need to "lift" it anymore once you get the bumpers on.

You may be right. I may only raise it f the 285's are tight and I don't think they will be.

Believe it or not it still has a rake of 1.5 inches rear to front. So I will likely go 1 more inch in front when I go to 33's. Right now those are 32's(265/75/16). And they look small in there.

No, the above pic is the most side view I got. Will try to get a better shot

Are these the same that come with your Mid-Travel kit? I have been looking at your stage 4 kit, if you have a Stage 4 kit available shoot me a quote.

I am installing king 2.5 extended travel shocks (650lbs springs) on my Tacoma with Deaver U402 stage one leaf packs. I would like the truck level. Is there anyone else running this same setup (shocks and leaf) pack and can tell me the thread count for preload you have for the front shocks to make the truck level? I have no additional weight on the truck.

    Thanks in advance.

Looking at buying kings and I have a front bumper and winch coming in. Spring rate on the ones I have my eye on are 650. Would I be ok not having the 700 lb spring?

Depends on if the bumper and winch made out of feathers or metal. You will need to get approx weight added up front to determine spring rates needed. Sounds like you may be looking at a used pair of shocks? Is that correct

The bumper is 132lbs and the winch is 62lbs. They are new not used.

Running king 2.5s 600’s at 14 driver/13 passenger for approx ~3” of lift. Deaver stage II’s out back. Keeps the 285/75/16’s from rubbing. Tried at the king shipped 2-3 threads 1” setting and was still rubbing with the 1.25” spidertrax spacers. Without spacers i was not rubbing but I did cmc. Casters at about 2-2.5. Now I have a little over an inch clearance on the cab side so I’m not rubbing at full lock (static). Heading to king of hammers this weekend to test it flexing.

ride is a little bit more stiff then stock which I wanted. Running tires at 33-36 psi and the rides still nice. We’ll see how it does on the trails lol
