Check around the area where you park the truck. The little bastard might roam the area and decided your truck was a good place to make a home! Good Luck!

I've been contemplating removing the black vinyl between the front and rear windows since I got my truck, so I finally dove in and did it last night. I spent more time removing the leftover adhesive (with Goo Gone and shop rags) than removing the actual vinyl... all in all it took about two hours.

Next up: a trip to the carwash, clearly...

As a fellow PDX resident, I totally understand and sympathize.

Honestly, I don't really know what else you could to do other than baited traps. That said, I'd probably avoid poisons since you probably don't want to murder you neighbor's cat or an innocent raccoon.

To air up all 4 tires at the same time. I have the MORRFlate system and can air down all 4 tires at the same time and then it takes me just over 4 minutes to inflate all 4 from 15psi to 37psi.

Hmm, I honestly didn't even know the vinyl was there because I have a midnight black truck. I'll have to look more closely at it.

Someone around here poisoned a bunch of rats and two weeks later there were six dead great horned owls in a park.

The should have replaced them. My last set of cooper tires were prorated and they gave me @$400 towards the new set.

Eliminate the lady. I've been using this simple fix for years and it's always worked well for me.

My grandfather used to use D-Con tablets, and the mice would end up dying behind some wall...

I have had success with glue traps, but it's a bit inhumane.
I have also had success with spring traps baited with peanut butter or dark chocolate.

They looks for warm spaces when the temperature drops... and that includes your truck, garage, and your house...

Glue traps work the best for the little ones. D-con just makes the “what’s that smell?” Once when I was 14 and stoned immaculate my dog got a mouse and the glue trap stuck to its face. So my older brothers friend thought it was really funny, and was like what a re you gonna do? You’re all messed up and don’t know what’s going on. So he got really nervous when I put the dog in the shower and dumped canola oil on his face. The whole thing came undone and I laughed and told him I read the directions when I set up the traps.

Be warned, I remember reading of a couple people removing that pillar vinyl only to find scratches underneath. Most people haven't but I figured I'd throw it out there. It's the reason I haven't removed mine....plus my truck is a dark color too so they really aren't noticable.

I'll be interested to hear if yours even has vinyl. Consistency on the assembly line is the only reason I can think of for black trucks to have it.

I read one of those horror stories too, and I definitely breathed a sigh of relief when the last piece of vinyl revealed nothing interesting underneath.

Glad you’re finally out of this.
The only reason I use my e-brake (not too tightly engaged) is when I’m parked on a hill or steep driveway and there’s no curve to point my tire/wheel to stop me from rolling.
