Anyone ever removed stone like this from a wall? If so, what's the best method? I want to redo my fireplace and I have similar rock surrounding mine that I want to remove. Seems like a major pain in the D.

If you have the option to go direct, do it. No sense in making something more difficult.

x2. Just stuck on top. I plan on getting rid of this someday as well, but for now it serves its purpose.

Brute force. Sledge and chipping hammer. If there's wire behind it once you remove the top course you can sometimes get a breaker bar back there and pull it out in large chunks.

I got a low roof so going attic may not be the best idea. Direct it is!

Use a small breaker hammer with a wide chisel attachment , start at the top and work your way down , be prepared to replace the drywall

Thanks for the feedback. I figured I'd be redoing all the drywall too.

if you want to keep parts of it, its will be a pain, might just have to go around each rock and cut it out. If you want to remove the whole wall, a sledge works well! Had a fireplace just like this, rocks held in by cement and chicken wire. Thankfully we were removing it all but it took some big hits from a sledge to break up the concrete.

It'll be a full demo. Now I'm wondering what I should put on the floor so it doesn't get damaged :D
