Certainly agree- I’m glad to at least be able to spread the output pics- I’ll make sure the lease is clean ( I think it is) and if I can get a better pic I will, it was worth a shot off Amazon :itllbuffout:

Mine is a 2017 with tow package and no way were my fat hands fitting behind the bumper. I got a small thin screwdriver and inserted it between the housing and the clear lens. With a bit of gentle prying the 1st side came out and I was able to use a plastic pry tool to pop out the whole lens housing. Then it was simple to twist out the bulb holder. Took me longer to figure out how to do it than the actual job. LEDs are way brighter!

When I installed leds in my license plate lights, I found that the brighter light washed out the rear view camera image. Anybody else experience this?

^Are you back up lights led as well?

I have LEDs on the back up and plates and have no visual issues.

Yes, I have the Meso Stage 1 kit and that works great. When I installed the brighter led license plate lights, the light would wash out the back up camera image so I went back to incandescent bulbs. YRMV

Yeah, had mine about a year, now flickering big time. Going to replace them. Sucks since it was one of the harder mods to do. Big hands.

3rd time to replace rear license plate LED’s.
The lens assembly is removable. It’s way easier to do than sticking your hand up behind the bumper trying to twist a build out/in.
Just FYI, also has instructions on how to remove build/lens assembly.
Press one tab in hard on side of bulb/lens assembly, same time use thumb from backside of assembly to push out. Takes 5 seconds.

Haven't read the whole thread but read enough comments saying turn the socket counter clockwise. According to the manual, it's clockwise. Can someone who has actually done it please verify which direction it turns?

I recently purchased these and no matter what I try I cannot get those tabs to release. I have the towing package and it seems to be in the way of getting that screwdriver just right. Help...any ideas, tricks or tips?

Thank you. Only took 5 pages for the easiest method. I really don't understand why all the advice to do it the other way is so popular and this method is so hard to find.

Can be done with a pocket knife... a butter knife... a toothpick... lol, jk. Kinda.

Like people saying to tape the interior lights to pull them out. Just pull the damn housing down.

That was my experience when I first met Tullie D...he just gave me a quick slap in the back of the head and showed me the correct way to do it... :smack:

A short knife did the trick. I wasted an hour fighting with this junk. Thank you!

lol so did I the first one. I googled it, came on the forum, all the results I found were telling me to get under the truck and go from the back etc etc.

It's like some easter egg content to find the easier method. Crazy.

Exactly and I don't like laying on my back trying to figure it out while cutting up my hands.
