Hey guys I have decided to put a single 8" sub in my regular cab 2nd gen. I'm putting it in a simple rectangular box under the brace that runs the width of the back wall. I need some recommendations on a good 8" sub. I was going to go with a solo-baric L5 but my box volume is only about .28 cf sealed and I think they require over .35 sealed. I don't wanna break the bank but want something that will sound good. I have kicker 6.5 components on an amp now but just am not getting enough low end. Thanks

Yeah I built my box just like that. I saw your thread earlier this week and it helped me decide on an 8". I Just want one that will reproduce the lower frequencies. I wanted to stay with kicker but the Rockford punch stage 1 is pretty close to the volume requirements and not that expensive. I just can't find one with low frequency response that matches my volume.

yeah a low frequency 8 in sub is tough, just because its not really in the nature of the sub to produce them low frequencies.

Well to me 23hz is low and the only one close to that was the L5 but you are correct. My hopes may be set too high for an 8". I will have to try and find a store that actually has an 8" on display. haha

I've got a 12" Kicker CVR and Kendwood amp putting out 500W rms and 1000 max @ 2 ohms. I had to make a custom mounting bracket for the ported box which required removing the jack and components and cutting out the jack brackets. It hits HARD in the regular cab!

I think I am just going to go with a kicker comp or compvr and another 100 watt amp. I can get it pretty cheap and it should accomplish what I am looking to do. I've been through my "loud stage" and I just want something to fill in the bass and sound good and tight.
