The guy across the street from me has become a lunatic neighbor. For several years he was quiet, kept his house neat, never made much noise. Over the last six months he has become a pain. Wife left, he started drinking and, it looks like, doing drugs. Family members move in and out. They often have some huge, screaming, blow out in the front yard with lots of swearing, throwing crap, etc. It’s all very ghetto. We have had more calls for police service in the last three months than over the 25 years I have lived here. I’ve called twice because it had gotten really out of control and there is a toddler in the home and I am a mandated reporter. The old buzzard who lives there has been arrested a couple of times and released later that day. His relatives who live there are all unemployed DBs. One guy has this roached out 5 series BMW he drives extremely fast and runs stop signs. He’s a real gem. He bought a dirt bike he likes to haul ass up and down the street, usually late at night.

So, last Sunday I’m doing some yard work and the guy across the street is blowing his yard waste into the street and over to my yard. I tell him not to do that, and he just comes unglued. He is standing on the side walk screaming at me, calling me every name you can imagine, and threatening to beat the shit out of me. Well, this old buzzard is 66, five for nothin, and about a buck -05. We go back and forth a while with his swearing and me making fun of him. At one point I just stood on the lawn and told him, “I’m going to stand here with my hands in my pockets. You come over here and take a shot at me and then we’ll see what’s up”. He just launched into a stream of almost unintelligible swearing and eventually went home.

Later that evening, all He’ll broke loose at the house and the police showed up. I think he was arrested and released later that night. The next day he was in the front yard running his blower. He will run that blower for as much as six hours in a day. It’s like standing next to a runway and he has had a bunch of run-ins with neighbors over it. Tweaker behavior.

Later that day, the police showed up again, six deputies. Suddenly they took off and returned a little while later with the neighbor in custody. Apparently, he had some conflict with another neighbor and made some criminal threats to harm this person. Off to jail he went. I pulled his arrest on the Sheriffs Dept. site and found he was being charged with the threats and carrying a concealed fixed blade knife. He was arraigned today and it looks like the charges have been upgraded to felony criminal threat, and an enhancement for the weapon. Bail is set to 100K. I guess the district attorney decided to make an example of him.

    Stupid, and hopefully gone.

When my neighbors act up, I crank up my stereo playing Polka music and I polka dance on my front porch wearing nothing but an ill fitting jock strap. That’s usually enough to stop their bullshit.

I feel your pain. I have some hillbilly neighbors across and up the street who have had the cops at their house about a dozen times in the last six years. They have finally quieted down a little bit since they've managed to piss everybody on the block off. Serious deadbeats, work is not in their vocabulary, a couple arrests for theft and meth, people moving in and out, squatting in trailers in the back yard, etc. Always trying to start a shitbox car, revving the hell out of it for ten minutes if it does start, always a hood up even if it's snowing, always yelling at each other. Fucking hicks.

I just bought a house this summer, but have not met ay of the neighbors yet.

-Most nights when Im at the house around 9-10 a car will drive up and stop at one of the neighbor house and lay on the horn for 20-30 seconds.
-Anytime i was working outside this summer and fall on of the neighbors would come outside and stand on his porch watching me. I never once saw him wearing a shirt.
-Between the 2 house across the street there are 3 or 4 non usable popup campers scattered around the yards. There is also a motorhome with a plate on it that hasnt been legal in NY in 21 yrs.
-Some form of Chrysler car from the mid 70's with a deer head bolted to the hood.

Im sure Ill have some good stories after I actually move in my house.

Heres a screen shot from a bunch of yrs ago Im guessing. Several pop ups are missing vs now, and the deer scull isnt on the black car yet.

    Howdy neighbor. :anonymous:

The skull is on the car but it’s on the rear in this pic. The campers are certainly usable, with a little bit of work. Take your pick, 500.00 each.

    I like it...
Our next door neighbor’s daughter used to play this awful club music real loud some times. My daughter countered it by playing Voodoo Chile loud and extended, or sometimes Eruption, on electric guitar. Their rooms faced each other across the side yards. Electric guitar and classic rock beats crappy club music on a Bluetooth speaker every time. My neighbor once commented, “So... your daughter plays guitar”. Yup.

Sometimes a good old fashioned face to face is what’s needed. I DONT DO DISRESPECTFUL NEIGHBORS.
I once made a gf’s neighbor come over and listen to his sound bar thru a wall they shared. Problem solved. I was nice.

What a nightmare. I bet you would like to burn the whole damn thing down and bury it.
All it takes is one bad neighbor to turn a neighborhood to crap. People like that are an infection which spreads. It’s like they just attract other shit bags.
A few of the homes on our street became rentals after the market dove a few years back. I’m hoping with the rising prices and demand for homes, the value prompts the owners to sell. Homes here sell in hours to less than a week and for way over ask. It’s like going to a Toyota dealer to buy a truck... insane. The upside is the buyers come in with cash and always seem to do some improvements to make it theirs.
I know the guy who owns the house these people live in. I could probably contact him and get them booted, but I don’t want to be that guy either. I think this guy may be done and they will be out of there.

You’re right of course. I think my daughter would say there is a time for talk... and a time for a face-melting solo. Judgement call.

Happy story to break up all the negativity. I started with shit neighbors but the ones on both sides of me, one leaves his door unlocked so I can get extra beer and the other calls us all over to swim in their pool.

Soo... This guy's bail was reduced to 75K. Didn't matter though, no one was going to bail him out. He waived his right to a speedy trial, which I don't understand because it only benefits the prosecution in this instance. Eventually, he pled out to a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 60 days with the remaining 31 suspended, 1 year probation, and mandatory completion of some kind of class, likely anger management. He's out a few days before Christmas. December 23rd, I'm welding in the garage and I get the sense someone is in there with me. I flip up my helmet and there is Tony. He takes up this "stance" like he's trying to intimidate me and says "I heard you called the cops on me homes..." It started me a bit and I lit into him with a flood of swearing while closing the distance with him. I was pissed. He high-tailed it out of there while making some stupid threats.

The next afternoon he is on the sidewalk making threats again. I said to him, "Tony, wasn't 30 days of suckin' dicks in county enough for you? Nice goatee douchito, I hear the home boys like that shit, it reminds them of their girlfriend's bush". He had a nuclear meltdown and shouted a bunch of unintelligible nonsense and walked off. Not my finest hour, but I was tired of his nonsense too. Tony is quiet for a few days and then on the 31st, my wife and I were taking a walk and we see a police car turn down an adjacent street. My wife jokingly says, "Probably for Tony". Turns out it was. Some sort of disturbance call about him at a relative's house. About 2 hours later, six police cars pull up, code 3, the deputies all running to the house. They bring one guy out, cuffed, with Tony in tow. Tony's yelling and carrying on about a bunch of nonsense. Two deputies are warning Tony to go back in the house, but no... Tony decides to hold homeboy court and jumps on one of the family cars and start airing his grievances with family and neighbors while flipping everyone off. Pure comedy, but the deputies arrested him and a few people clapped. What a show. Tony spent the night in jail for disturbing the peace and drunk and disorderly, was cited and released. He's been quiet since. He may have violated the terms of his probation and may have some consequences coming. We'll see.

I don't know if I should despise this guy or feel sorry for him. Something with him is messed up for him to act the way he does. My behavior hasn't been exemplary either with some of the things I've said. Once I've had enough, I guess that's it. Looking back I would say I didn't make the best choices by taunting him, but that's what happened. I don't care so much about the threats, but I do not tolerate my space being invaded or someone trying to intimidate while standing in my garage.

After Tony decided he was going keep pushing me, I told him I was going to make a special project out of him, and the best part was he would do all the work. I don't think he understood what I meant, but he is sure doing the heavy lifting.
