It would be its own dedicated thread for sure. I’d want to include the new 7” Retrobrights as well. I’ve already tested both JW Speaker 7” rounds. Thread titles should match content for best googlable discovery, and with testing a handful of competing products I don’t think I’d make it generic a catch all. But there is certainly content that is a bit homeless that I share in various threads that could maybe use a catch all thread.

I want to convert my 84 4Runner from 200mm squares to 7" rounds.

Can anyone confirm that the 2022 fog mounts are unchanged?
I'm planning to order the SS3 but want to be sure. I reached out to a couple vendors (including DD) and each said they hadn't been able to confirm fitment in the '22 yet.

My 2008 Tacoma has the fog light plastic pod coverings.

When my DD SS3's come in I'll need to come up with a method to aim each fog light, since there are none to reuse.

I guess I could see if the dealer has these or is there another way? Thanks!

Thanks but I have No adjusting screws, and the SS3's do not come with them.

I'll will need to come up with some way to adjust these.

I think he means his truck doesn't have factory fogs. Do bumpers have the mounting slots for them or will he have to fabricate something? And he'll need to have a relay + wiring.

Correct, no factory fogs to cannibalize the adjusting screw from, see red circled item in photo. It does have the blank fog light pods for them. HotShot is sending the wiring harness etc.

The SS3 pods are aimed by rotating the pod relative to the mounting bracket, you do not need an adjusting screw. You may need thread forming screw or bolt (I forget which) to mount the bracket to the bumper. The pictures in this post might help clarify the mounting and adjustment.

That may be an option by using the side screws however, this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7Ln7I_4VII shows the adjusting screw (view around the 3 minute mark) being reused which I do not have the option. The Tacoma is 2008.

Ah! I had a customer who had to make up something of his own with a similar situation once upon a time... Lemme see what I can come up with. He was able to source a similar ball-head screw that worked.

I believe the screw that attaches the bracket to the bumper is an m10 fine thread machine screw

Thanks, you can PM me if you like, we've worked on the harness and switch for this truck earlier.

I think it would be good though to post here what you may come up with though, for others.

A new ball head screw comes with the SS3's.

Reviewing the DD video in my post #5695 and the photo in #5697 I'm beginning to question the need for the threaded plastic retaining clip & ball-head adjustment screw. Appears in my situation, they may not be necessary to properly adjust the fog lights?

You’d have to fab something up, looks to me that they are using that piece to stabilize the bracket, not necessarily for adjusting..

We're waiting for our resident lighting expert to do some truly unbiased, properly instrumented testing before we draw any conclusions. Some sites make some truly amazing claims of performance (like 500% brighter than OEM headlights) by using biased, improperly instrumented testing methods. I won't mention any names though.
