This will be quoted once we are closer to the date. As I mentioned in my ramble post. The time it took us to complete trail #93 from last year to this year was different by almost 3 hours. All due to the amount of snow.

I will keep you all updated

Jeremiah is running a brand new set of Cooper Discoverer STT Pro on his green heep. They are doing great so far.

We figured they would as my Cooper Discoverer STT Maxx have been amazing for me in the snow.

    :deadhorse:

It is really all about how they perform when you air down. The Cooper tires we are running are designed to be aired down. They have ribs, or steps on the sidewall. That as you air down they create proper sidewall action. It is one of the reasons I bought them, after they came so highly recommended.

I know I know 'STFU ABOUT AIRING DOWN BRAH :smack:'

But with snow wheeling it is THE most important thing you can do to help have a better time, and doing it properly for your rig is all up to you.

In October @19Canuck and I did most of the 93 trail west to east. If I recall correctly there were a few good size hills along the route. You have no problem going up and down some of those hills in the winter? We found on another run in November that slippery/icy hills can be a problem.

Ice is always a problem

Just have to be aware of how far down you hit ice after starting to spin, and try real hard to not spin.

We had no problem with the main trail at all, with only about 5~7CM of snow on top of 5CM of solid ice.

It is when you go off the main trail on some of the side options that we had issues. As soon as the angle goes over a certain point, she no go.

The snow and ice just make it so challenging, that is the fun!

    :transformer:

    :bananadance:

*Again with the beating of dead airing down horses*

    :deadhorse:

Jeremiah and I always tweak and hit the exact number we need for PSI to ensure we are getting the most traction. It is very important in the winter, for the type of snow wheeling we are doing. :cookiemonster:

    :militarypress:

I run olrig rd at say 15/13 PSI front/rear, as it is plowed at the moment.

Then when we hit the trail head I drop to 12/10 or 10/8 or lower maybe 8/6 depending on snow amount and type.

There is a ton of things to know about airing down, one of them in the winter is when you come off the highway, your tires are hot, or warm at least. They are going to cool down as you plunge them all the way in snow, and do not drive as fast on the trails. This means mine go down by almost another 2 PSI when they finish cooling down. Something else you have to factor in when adjusting your PSI.

Hello all! I would also be very interested to tag along with your group for this trip if possible. I haven’t really been able to find any other groups doing winter trips like this and would love to be apart of it. I reached out on instagram but thought I should also reach out here as I see a list is forming.

    Welcome to TW!

Do you have a winch on your RAM 2500? As it is MUCH larger than our trucks and yanking it out, after you get stuck maybe impossible for us.

I have a 16.5 Waren which with steel cable as long as I have a solid tree I’m good to go!

I know this trip is not until Feb, but having all the required gear can take some time if you are missing any still.

This post is just a reminder to everyone,
