Red Bullet VVTi Solenoids GB (Primary GB CLOSED)

Happy New Years! Thanks for the update dude Appreciate the effort gone into this groupbuy and navigating us to the end. QT can be salty all they want that they got beat, RB was just thinking more clearly!

 

My above statement is 99.99% accurate. Red Bullet mentioned there's an problem with getting our order accepted at the factory because their competitor has complained and taken it up with the factory owners/mgmt.

I can assume a lot of things at this point but nothing has changed besides being given the latest update from Red Bullet today. RB understands what is at stake and our $$ is secure with him. I asked for a possible update before the weekend.

On a separate note, if/when production starts on our solenoids, please be aware that Lunar New Year is Feb 1, 2022. This is the major holiday celebration in Asia where its not uncommon for people/places to close from 1-week and possibly up to 1-month. This is just advance notice on a possible delay that is a total non-factor at this moment in time in our GB.

 

I guess we'll see how it goes. not like the 40 people that are in the GB are going to run over and buy the competitor's version unless they heavily discount them if it falls through.

Maybe next GB we keep all pricing via PMs as not to ruffle any feathers.

 

Completely agreed. And even if somehow he claims exclusivity and blows away the GB pricing, I think I'll take a hard pass because of how he conducted this piece of business.

My update wasn't meant to get the "List of 40" nervous and worry about their $. Nothing has changed besides the latest update on this initial difficulty of getting our order in.

 

I love it when our competition loses on a bid then goes crying to the same supplier we use and get told to sharpen their pencils.

I love how 40 people are causing such a thorn in this dudes side. Even if this GB gets shut down for whatever reason, or it goes smoothly; I am boycotting this dude because hes acting like a child.

 

Seems to be Quantum and supposedly they both buy the parts from the same place but one is 2x the other.

Whoever the competitor is set their price to have fat margins, and now they're upset that in order to maintain business they have to decrease that price.

I'm going to try this tactic.

If I lose a piece of business or a bid because my competitor underbid me, I'm going to complain to their management.

Oh wait, no I won't. I have a reputation to uphold and I don't want to be told to go fuck myself, which is exactly what RB's competitor should have been told.

Regardless of what happens with this GB, I will never do business with the competitor in this case and I hope no one does either. Predatory games may win short term gains but the consequences are heavier.

You're correct in that. RB has the correct 1GRFE single vvti solenoids that were kindly donated by @12TRDTacoma .

There was a plan (another factory) to design the bracketry off of that pair but it would have required a production run of a 100 pairs minimum. But it is still an option on the table and will be revisited if Plan A gets sunked.

 

true and we likely have more anyway. Up to maybe 60 people now?

 

I wish I could have stayed on in the original 40 participants. Rooting for you guys and when you guys get your order delivered, I'm totally going to leave Quantum a nice review on their service

I despise bad business and especially along the off-road community which is known best for coming together and improving the quality and knowledge for all.

Almost 6 months to get a rear bumper, 4 months to get the first round of DD s2’s, two months for a light bar and rack, my tires have been on back order since July. Hell my work boots were outta stock for 3 months, I haven’t even started to raise an eyebrow.

 

We’re all still here, we just left to get more popcorn while the vender gets their shiznet together.

 

Haha likewise been waiting on shocks since may, bumper and lights since November, calipers since sometime last year. All part of the game nowadays
