Since ‘62. Hour meter broke a while back but it’s never been apart. Points, plugs & oil is about all. Kinda surprising since Nat. Gas is kinda hard on heads.

 

Why is natural gas hard on heads? Lack of lube?

I don’t know much about propane and propane accessories

 

So ya'll are the ones that brought that down huh? Our high was 70° yesterday...tomorrow it's supposed to be a high of 43°.

 

Yes, back home when irrigation took off. All the farmers went to their dealership of choice, bought the Biggest engines for there irrigation pumps. The engines I’ve seen out there. Side oilers, hemi’s you name it. But they all suffer from lack of top end lubrication. Heat too. Lotsa seals ‘n guides shot. On the other hand, trick stuff like sodium valves, stylite seats & so on. It’s all different now.

Our temps have climbed back to normal 45-65* today. We get hit with the next cold blast on Friday. Woohoo

 

I got to thinking about it and I figured it was lack of lube going through the valves, etc

 

Chilly here too, at least we’re not negative temps like some are

 

Some guys used Tetraethyl lead but that’s long discontinued. Others had an oil pot with a drip. Those engines ran hard.

 

Very happy I’m not in negative temps!

 

Friend of ours found this yesterday not far from the house. Some sort of weather device for the national weather service. The device was in the orange bag, it had a small bag with an address and prepaid shipping to return it to Missouri. I wish I knew where it was launched.

For those of you that have never experienced snow blowing during a blizzard, it's like being water boarded while doing the ice bucket challenge only instead of a quick dump of the water, it lasts for an hour.

About to head out for work. Hopefully the roads don't suck.
