    Side note.
If you get a 33+ inch tire all setup, you know, wheels, backspacing, no rubbing...
It's gunna be hard to go to a 35s.
They are really only 34+inches, gunna need work, $$, gears, uca, lca, lift, new wheels even.
Only real option will be going to 37s

Truck has been great with this setup. Was camping and on the trail a week ago and everything performed awesome. Truck is quite heavy so airing down to 22-23psi seems to work well and the tires had no isses with traction. I'm switching to SCS F5s next week so I hope those work as well as the TRD Pro wheels.
ETA- heavy truck with these tires and travelling between 65-70mph on the highway and I'm getting 15ish mpg (give or take 1 in each direction).

In trying to understand this 247 page thread, I attempted to consolidate key details into a table for quicker reference and decision-making. Feedback sought below to ensure that happens:

    Goals:
    1. Consolidate answers that tell 2nd Gen owners what's required and recommended for fitting 255/85R16's on their trucks
    2. List all modifications required or needed to make 33" tires fit (255/85's or 285/75's)
    3. Show what mods are needed for changing tires sizes, focused on the 255/85-16 size
    4. The table logs accurate answers for a 'clean' implementation, including at full-stuff articulation and steering-lock (to behave as stock)
    5. Help to understand which wheel/tire sizes trigger modifications, and which modifications, so users could choose their adventure more easily

    Seeking Feedback:
    A. Any additional modifications not shown in the table that should be there?
    B. Any modifications shown as required that are not actually required?
    C. Any edits to wheel offset numbers or widths to make more of those fields go green?
    D. Any options not shown that would allow for the most green-fields to be present?

Table. 2nd Gen Tacoma Tire Size and Wheel Spec Options + Modification Plan
    upload_2021-8-6_13-8-4.jpg

There is so much conflicting information about changing tire sizes on the 2nd Gen, I'm trying to make sense of it. Since my uses include mostly 4x4 use with no compromises in reliability, performance, and safety, and it seems there are many conflicting experiences on that front, I'm interested in finding a clear answer for 4x4. It looks like @TacoEspecial has this down pat, and looks like a kindred truck to mine.

Any corrections that align with the goals listed above to make this table more accurate will be appreciated! Hopefully someone reads to page 247 some day and is like, "Blammo! That table is what I was looking for..." :)

    I'm running 16x7 with 4.5bs which I think is +12mm offset.
Only had to take off the mud flaps and the little flap just in front of the tire.
Nothing to the fenders, flares or pinch weld.
    Stock uca.
No rubbing on trails or flexing.
I did add superbumps so that may have done something or not.
Set caster to 2 deg, asked for 3 deg put thats what they gave me.
    Actually rides great.

Fast forward and I now rub a tad where the front mud flap was.
Think my bs is off after doing a BBK which has thick rotors.
I also added 6112s and a Camburg uca.
And my new caster is a little over 3 deg.

Wow, the tolerances must be super thin to make it rub with relatively minor change. What do you think your solution to the rubbing will be?

Going to try a 1/4" smaller wheel spacer but if it still rubs I'll just trim.
Its rubbing on a small bit of plastic so not much to trim.

Just got my 255’s yokohama geolandar mt g003 on today. Blistein 5100s in front, super spring and 1 inch blocks on back. Rubbed the inner frame at full lock and stuff but that’s it. It’s about at inch away from the plastics but will trim a little.

This might be a good place to ask, I am trying to decide if I want to do 255s or 285s. I have 16 inch Pro wheels on my 2009. Does anyone with this wheel have experience with running 285s or bigger? Looking to know if there enough back spacing to clear everything with a 285 otherwise I'm going to go with 255s

From what I have found on them it sounds like 11mm I think.
