If you are running Duratracs, please chime in.

I think, since I can not find a tire in stock that I want, I might just get the Duratracs. Can anyone tell me how the ride on the highway? Are they a rough ride, how loud are they? How is the wear?

I have about 7000 miles on mine and I love them I haven't noticed any wear so Id say there still at 98% the ride on the high way is good but they do make noise i have 12.5's and they hum a little I'm sure with a thinner tire they wouldn't be as loud. I give them a 9 out of 10 just because it was a pain the balance them but it's manly because of my offset. Great tire!

Dunno about longevity yet, but I love mine. They did great in the mud and snow, look good, only a slight hum on the highway.

 

I have 265/70/17 Duratracs on my 2010 TRD Sport, that are slightly louder than the stock Bridgestone’s but no where near what I expected considering how aggressive the tread pattern is. Living in Northeast Ohio, these tires kick ass over the BS Duelers. I love em, just hope I get decent mileage out of them.

 

They are a little louder than stock, but not too bad at all. I had 5100's and the tires installed at the same time, so the ride was much improved. I can't comment how they ride compared to the Rugged Trails. Wear has been excellent. They are a huge improvement off road, especially in the mud. Sand, not so much, but still pretty good. I drove across country last month, and they did well in rain and snow. Way better, IMO, than the BFG ATs I've run on my last two trucks. I'll buy them again when these do wear out.

 

best AT tire i've ever owned, night and day difference from the stock rugged trails. got the 265/75/16. Yes there is some noise to them like everyone else said. i think its the best looking AT tire out there, looks like a mudder, considered an all terrain.

 

I read a lot of the comments that everyone put on the other thread about the Duratracs. I said heck with it and ordered them.

from the techs working there when they pulled it out.

Congrats! You are gonna love these tires! They look 100000x more aggressive in person and people keep asking me if they are a Mud-Terrain tire. As others have said, they aren't that loud, considering how aggressive the tread is.

 

Do they offer the 285 in a D load rating or just E?

 

has anyone noticed a change in gas mileage after switching to the Duratracs? (particularly highway miles)

 

Almost 30k miles on mine now. The ride is not rough at all. Just as smooth as any other tire. They hum a little but that's to be expected from an all terrain tire.

I probably lost 1mpg when I put them on but thats because I went from 265/70/16 to 265/75/16's.

 

I have 32x11x18s(275/65/18) & have about 15k on them with little over half the tread left. I do 60 mile round trip daily for work with most being 70-75mph frwy. Noise is not an issue. All 18s are E load and the ride is not an issue at all. Got some coworker saying all the time going to lunch how he can't believe how good it rides. Not sure they'll make 40k but we'll see. Traction on road and off road nothing short of stellar.

 

I don't think i'll see 40k out of mine. I'm at 27k on mine now I think and I think I'll only get another 10k max.

I'm actually considering going with BFG's next because of the mileage. The duratracs have been great tires, I just wish I could get a little more mileage. I drive 50 miles a day round-trip.

 

If I had 4x4 and did more offroading I'd probably stay with the Duratracs but I'm prerunner and do more miles on pavement (not at malls, lol) than dirt so most likely will be going back to NTGs next time. Like the way the Duratracs look all aggressive but would rather the tires last longer and give better mpg. Thinkin I can get a C load NTG that'd be lighter than the E load Duratracs which are all E load in 18".

 

I looked at the Nitto Terra Grapplers but they were back ordered everywhere until March/April and I didn't want to wait that long. The Duratracs that I got are "C" rated so I am hoping they might last a while and not hurt my gas mileage that much.

 

I have 18,000 miles on mine now and they have more than 1/2 tread. They are making more noise now but it's not really that bad. I would buy these tires again, no complaints.
