Yeah I’ve been cruising pirate and it’s not as intimidating as I was making it. Maybe having the bed off and not worried about navigating around a million things helps. I’ve got some researching to do. Ruff stuff might be a more canned solution. Just need to figure out where they’d actually mount. It’s so short.

I’ve been trying to find out how you plump one. My fuel neck has about 70 tubes coming off of it. It cannot be that much involved in sending gas to the front. Not sure what to do with the charcoal canister either

I think someone on here was contacting their gas skid from the movement

If it doesn't get inspected and is just a wheeling rig, ditch all of that. Run a decent inline pump like a bosch 044 and send it.

There isn't a ton involved in going to a cell. You could even make your evap system work if you really wanted to put time into it. If it doesn't get inspected, I would just trash everything evap related and enjoy not having a tank to smash in. There is a good handful of companies out there that make nice cell mounts that you could just bolt down in the bed.

No inspections down here. I’ll dig into that pump as well.

It doesn’t work like that with a Tacoma, the ECU needs to talk to the fuel pump

Are these PCM regulated pumps? I guess I was unaware of that considering it has a FPR.

Looking at the wiring schematics, I see no reason an inline pump cant be wired up. Unless I'm missing something here. Only thing running to the PCM is the fuel pressure cut off so the pump doesn't run constantly with key on.

On my 4Runner with stockish link mount locations (4 link w/panhard) and 12" shocks, the axle walk is real. I echo do it right with dual triangulated 4-link or stick with leaves. A proper 4-link is the next move on my rear for sure.

Here’s the schematics, all I see going to the PCM is the yellow wire off of the relay for the pressure cut off. Theoretically you should be able to wire it exactly the same as factory. I know for sure others on here have done it. Maybe ask around on the LT thread?

he’s designing some for 10” shocks for me and another guy running dirt design kits with vertical heims. After talking to Steve at dirt designs he wasn’t sure how much I would really gain going to 10’s due to much more up travel will put the crossmember on the ground, but Hoping with 934’s I can gain some more down travel. He did say though that he used to only sell his kits with new uca mounts to change the anti dive. But also with running JD’s kit your upper joint is not going to be clocked right for remounting the uca….

Yeah, I'll save the big changes like that for when I want more. Too many variables from kit to kit to take the risk of chopping everything off and having it not work well. But for a vertical uniball I can definitely see the benefit.

You can have Harmon make a cell and then use the factory in-tank pump

Very excite! I will have to piece together an oil filter relocation since I have the V8 but seems simple enough from what I've read.

I know you don't like panhards but it would be AWESOME to see what you think could be done with the stock 4runner rear suspension. Maybe a wishbone 3 link to eliminate the side to side movement of a panhard? Gas tank still makes it funky of course. Maybe SUA Deavers are the answer there too Lol

The gas tank really is the limiting piece, not much that can be done (that will have meaningful improvements) without ditching it. A 3-link with pan might get you slightly better travel numbers but I think will result in even greater axle wag. To put on shocks longer than 12's you need to go into the cab anyway, so might as well take the plunge and do the whole thing right and relocate the tank while you're at it, not really that much more work in the grand scheme of things.

Maybe Harry has some ideas, but I have spent way too much time thinking about this over the past 8 years once I decided to start cutting shit up, and haven't seen or came up with a way to make drastic improvements and keep the stock tank. The tank itself is a major detriment as well if crawling, I have a flat belly from the LCA crossmember to the tank now, and hang up on it everywhere.

Hey Harry is your 4 runner kits going to include the 3rd gen 4 runners? My wife has a 98 and I’d love to run your stuff on both of our vehicles. The attention to detail on the products are what bring guys like me back. :hattip: Although I do have to finish my truck first. :)
