coo thanks for your input. im assuming the truck you got was new? thats another thing i was thinking. maybe a new one would come out to be a better deal. i think my trade in is whats really hurting my part of the deal

so the sales coordinator lady at crown toyota here in ontario california called me asking why i didn't take the deal.. and so i told her the story. she said she'll try and go talk to the sales manager and see if he can make me a deal that i want. after hours and hours later that day i got tried of waiting for a phone call back so since my wife and i was already on the road, we decided to just walk into the dealership that night.

and so guess what. it was no longer 21,500. they wanted 23k for the truck and claim they bought that truck for 21,500 and theres no way they can sell it me for that price?!?? i was like, but you spent like almost and hour pushing me to buy that truck at 21 and hold my keys and registration so i couldn't walk out. so since they refuse to give me the truck for 21,500. my wife walked out flipping them off lol . then he have the nerves to come out to my car window and tell me 21,700??! wtf. 21,500 was your last offer the last i was here!

i'm never buying a car from that place!!

Looks like it was a Sport, which adds some money to the value. I'd say $21,500 was a pretty good price if it was clean. Too bad it didn't work out.

I got my 06 Sport DC Prerunner (57k miles at the time) from Toyota El Cajon. Sticker price was 24,995 or something of that sort. I got it down to 20,995 or close to that- somewhere in the high 20k. Of course the taxes and all that extra crap brought it up again, but it could have been more. Hope this helps some.

edit: I originally wanted to post this:

Definitely, man. No reason to keep it going with shitheads like that. I wish you the best of luck on your Tacoma search. I know you'll find something good somewhere else. There's plenty of dealerships out there :)

just got off the phone with the manager, Wally. He asked me what happen, so i told him the story and that i'll never step foot back into his dealership again unless they give me a deal. He goes to say, im sorry and they probably made a mistake and that he can't take that much of a lost.

he also said they got the truck for 20k and spent like 600 to get it certified.

so anyways, wow... can't take one lost after ripping off a bunch?! not to mention about getting a bad rep? oh well taking my business elsewhere

earlier in the thread you mentioned the dealership told you they paid 21,500 for the truck. now they tell you they paid 20,000. it is pretty obvious that they have no idea what they're talking about.
either way, sorry about your troubles...and good luck finding the truck you want. it took me forever to find one, but earlier this month i just bought a 08dc.

i dealt with 6 different sales guy. not including the mr manager, wally. the one that told me the truck was bought for 21something was the 2 of the 6 sales guys. i never got to talk to the manager till now, even after asking for a manager like 10 times. 2 of the sales manager even claim they were managers. only for me to find out later that they weren't
