Agree. Also my own thick head comes into play.

Nothing kept me from going to work, trying to turn out more work that the other guy and as I got older to out do the younger ones. I was very busy ignoring all my body warning lights right up to the time I crashed into the wall.

This bearing has decided it's old enough to leave its house and strike out on its own... D72260CA-AD37-4F55-85E2-846BC3632EE3.jpg

You certainly may, and I certainly might, if I don't burn this place down tonight. (To the tune of wish I may wish I might)

It looks like you did not need to go Chasing after parts !

    Which is always good.

This is true. Although now I have all my methods of bearing removal up here minus the torch. Thankfully the classic 3 jaw worked out. Sadly this is what lay underneath. Looks like the person before me decided to just slap a pillow block bearing on this shaft after this damage was already done from a previous failed bearing. 2975C8C2-2ADB-499D-B5FA-3CFD409F4787.jpg

That is grounds for being dragged behind the truck on a dry dirt road.

Then one never knows The Power to be said " just get it up and running"

Then it just was forgotten about till now.

I am sure most all of us have been there quite often.

    Best of Luck!!!

I wish I could say I was in a position to fix it properly with a new shaft and sprocket. Alas I'm in the same position of "just get it running" as I'm the only guy here, this is 20 feet off the ground outdoors, and shift starts again in 10 hours. New pillow block, grease, and new hardware to make it run until we can try to remember it needs to be fixed.

Weld the journal and machine Finding a shaft or making one might prove interesting.

Then with the cost of bar stock unless there is enough on the rack then it is just the labor time.

I miss those days Yet I don`t if it makes sense.
