I got one just recently. First use an owl came down and stole the decoy tail that spins around. So now its just a call, lol. Its buggy as hell though, the remote doesnt want to work half the time. Some weird batteries in the remote, only had one old one. Have some coming in the mail today, hope thats all it is.

we are in the Quality Deer Management Program, its set by DGIF for larger propertys, with us we are surrounded with other large propertys that are in it too so letting bucks walk is alot easier. we take weight and jaw bone from all we kill on the property. then the biologist we are under sends us a chart with age for all deer we take. then they tell us how many does to take for the capacity of the property based on weights of kills..we dont take near as many as they say you can.basically our own rule is everyone take 2 does.the western mountain area has low deer density compared to other areas of the state.really no crop land. its all mountains and pastures.I know this year they recomended taking 30 does.

ive only been here 5or 6 years. they have had the lease for a good 15 yrs. my son was in it thru a buddy that works with him. his buddy is the one that runs it and his dad started it. 12 people in it. we all know each other. works well. some never shoot any bucks, ones that i would bust in a heartbeat. i got in it after all my private land dryed up,and our homeplace got sold. i feel blessed to have a good safe place. hunted the 1st week late muzzle and I was only one on it. @4500 acres.we look for mature bucks but any kid that comes has open book for anything. after they kill a few then try to get them to hold out for alittle better buck.BUT we make sure its still fun for them. thats the key.manage but dont take the fun out of it. my avatar pic was one from last year.running with a bigger one. 3 little ridges coming from the road. me n the boys covered all 3 one morning. got this one, oldest saw the bigger one and too thick to shoot and i saw all the dang does.

Wish more people had your mindset...management of land can yield nice bucks pretty much every year if everyone gets on the same page. Then hunting becomes even more fun.

Our late bow comes in the 15th I think. Their horns should be gone soon. It’s hard to get one in bow range around here this late after gun season been in for 2 months and all the processors shut down after gun season.

If we did hunt and got one I could quarter it up and smoke it…..if we had freezer space :D
