If you look close you can tell the difference between the rough surface cast metal and smooth surface plastic

 

Pull the handle and show the backside

 

Probably ballast

The normal fail point is metal as it should be

Somewhere out there is a Honda Accord with a handle that i repaired and reinforced using a popsicle stick, some small screws and a gob of JB weld. I was quite pleased with the repair

 

All this damn door handle talk and now my driver side one feels weird. Should probably order one up just to be safe

 

I think the metal ones are currently out of stock, but I don’t know
