Good eye. I noticed that, removed the boot clamp and fixed the boot and reclamped it before install. I was quite frustrated at that small extra step but you’re right it would have been bad news to put it in like that

Thanks for the kind words! That’s a very low priority at this moment. I already have a very string 1/4” winch tray all gusseted up with recovery points so adding tubework just isn’t a priority right now. Will probably take a while

I ordered the OEM kit from a Toyota dealer in CA. Little harder than carpet to install, but pretty easy all in all.

Hahaha, no that would have probably stressed me out even more. I have to say it’s not easy to wrench with a 2 and 5 year old in the garage but my boys are not too too stressful to have in there. They’re just happy to be there with me in the garage

Agreed, my last Napa axles look different than this one. It’s a brand new $120 Napa axle not a reman. I’m getting another one next week when I return the one that “broke” aka torn boot

It’s just a wide angle lense on my iPhone 13 it’s a riot and I love it. It lets you get way more in the pic without having to stand way back

Oh for sure. I actually have an oem boot kit in my shed that I never used. Problem is the last thing I feel like doing is rebooting a brand new axle. Hose clamp on the outboard end to fix the boot & move on with my life

For out trucks? I highly recommend OEM for CV boots, axles, Timming belts, bearings etc..... You might save a few bucks in to beginning but in the long run it will cost you! JMHO!

Had my passenger side wheel bearing replaced. I did the drivers side, but then ran out of time to do the passenger side after having a baby. So now both wheel bearings are good to go for hopefully another 80-100k.

While I was having the shop do the passenger side they said my drivers side rear wheel bearing sounds just a tad rough... doesn't need attention yet, but probably in the somewhat near term future.

Also, i'm still chasing down this weird "clunk" from the front. I had the shop look things over and they couldn't find anything wrong... BUT as i was leaving the shop I heard it. So it may not be suspension related (thats what i told them to look at - all the front suspension components). Any other suggestions? There is a "clunk" when the truck is coming off the top off a speed bump or a hard compression like hitting the bottom of a speed bump. But it's gotta be pretty extreme, not like a small speed bump. I've been trying to track this down for months and can't find anything obvious. All other driving around town everything sounds fine.
