It sounds like you need to take it apart and put it back together. I had mine apart (aj and meso) and it lined up funny but the center button needed to be rotated 180. And it sorta snapped or clicked together.

Same. I've done all interior lights, tail lights, head and fog lights mirror turn signals, without disconnecting the battery. I feel lucky. Next I'm going to go by a lotto ticket.
Its best to take the 2 minutes and disconnect the negative. I've heard the horror stories too.

You mean the button with the line on it? Or the one holding the screw

Yeah it’s a pain. Are you referring to the notch button or the black piece that holds the screw

The screw. I had placed it in the other way it through the 4l light and a code but I was like ugh this can’t happen and took it apart. I had it backwards it’s hard to see where the contacts line up, but it behaves like a switch when you put it back together right.

Those little connector arms are easy to tweak. Most youtubers don’t even mention it. I think the 4 little arms is what causes a light to show up. Makes me very nervous fiddling with it since I broke the last one

Installed a cheap $20 wifi front camera which connects to my phone via wifi.
Very easy setup, connect to my USB adapter that I have plugged in and ran the wire to camera (tried to keep it hidden as much as I could) which is installed in my new trd pro grill. Lets me see everything in-front of the truck 2ft out.

Here is why it is a good idea to disconnect the battery when doing interior lights. The map lights, dome light, and backlights in the truck are controlled via a floating ground. This means that the 12v+ side is always live. So if the light is turned off, it still has 12v+ to it, it just doesn't have any ground. That creates a situation where arcing can easily occur. Just FYI.

Finally have the bed covered with the Alu-Cab Explorer canopy! Very impressed with the build quality and how easy it was to install. It took the help of a friend to get aligned, but overall it only took about an hour (I was in a rush and haven't done the lighting). Won't be fitting a box this big in the bed again any time soon.
