    Morning Mark
Morning Kevin - back to work this week?
Morning Scott - tailless cats are good luck
    Morning Chas
    Morning Ozzy
Morning Danny - uh, happy weekend!

:pccoffee: Good Morning SA! Well, it's rear shock do over day. With a little luck, bigger jackstands will arrive and I won't need to use 4x4s for height. Have all the biscuits and such. Then, need to clear the stereo space so to replace that amp. Using my little bluetooth boom box isn't quite the same. Anything past that, will be gravy, and a nice day for it to boot!

I’m sure she will do fine, they will tolerate each other after a few days along as she stays around.

Short answer.... aw, you know I can't do the short answer.

I was right about the source of the problem. Square peg...

    20220105_113849.jpg

    round hole.

    20220105_113827.jpg

And nothing to prevent metal on metal speaking out about it. Although the passenger side was still so tight, it took a breaker bar and hammer to loosen the top nut, the whole assembly could be rotated once the weight of the truck was off it. (not a movie - imagine no resistance between the two shots)

    20220105_141637.jpg
    20220105_141639.jpg

So, off they both came (takes me far longer to mess with the wheels than anything), and both got the same treatment. My cut up metal bushings (provided w/shocks) and the shims came out of the bottom, replaced with the metal bushing in the rubber insulator I begged Down South for. On the top, I had to drill out the new shock washer (9/16" biggest I could find), and a little of the biscuit. Then the top would either get another biscuit, or a thick neoprene rubber washer (or 3) under the washer and nut.

    20220105_121335.jpg
    20220105_121343.jpg

And, I reversed the adapter bolt on the passenger side from what I had.

    20220105_143308.jpg
    20220105_143342.jpg

    And now, there is some insulation on the shock tower to the mount;

    20220105_124957.jpg

The shoulder of the adapter has the nice bushings that came with it
    20220105_124948.jpg

And even though the bolt doesn't show through - it IS in the nylon of the nylock nut.

    20220105_125010.jpg

And the bottom on both sides, looks a lot more like what I thought it should like.

    20220105_123710.jpg

And it's all back together and on the ground again.

    20220105_152327.jpg

So, the round the block test drive over all those noisy bumps and holes? Noise is all gone. Bearing noise is all gone. A longer test drive is upcoming so I can actually enjoy the new ride!

And now that the part is on the way, the stupid Heater Blend Door Actuator is working correctly again!!!!
    :annoyed:

I'm on a roll (sesame) today. Replacement amp came first thing this morning when I went to work. I stuck with the little boom box and the phone until I was done with the truck. This died....

    20220105_170723.jpg

and this little guy replaced it, and even let me clean a shelf, move the old Chromebook up where I can see the screen. And I don't even get loud enough to see the cute little power LEDs' work!

Good evening folks! Been a busy day today at work and then got home and hit the ground running; kids, dinner, dishes, night time stories, bed, and then off to read for college class. There really isn’t enough time in the day. Good work on those shocks Kurt. That new amp will be a nice change of pace; into the modern area you go! I will betting some over time just like @RockHed but I don’t get paid for it :homer: Have a good evening everyone, I am off to sleep!

    Morning fellas :pccoffee:

    Let's get this over with:turtleride:

Damn sounds like my days sometimes, other than college books, that's rough right there. Today is one of those days, up at 330, 12 hour work day, karate practice, dinner, dishes, kids homework, showers, and bedtime. All worth it in the end

:pccoffee: Good Morning SA! Get to do a better test drive this morning with some local errands. Then, I think I'm going to mow, because everything is a little shaggy when parts are growing and parts are not. Got to keep up appearances! Then, get ready for tonights' freeze. And figure out dinner - going to be a little chilly if I cook out - might just make a meal popular with the kid.

Is that a rubber bushing or metal washer?
