Newbie on the forum here! My 2014 tacoma 4.0 has always felt lazy on throttle response until i beat on it a bit. Then it is as if it wakes up and the power and response increases quite noticably. Not sure what it could be. No trouble codes and runs very smooth, just gets lazy and poor response when i drive normally. Disclaimer, i put a magnuson supercharger on the truck a few months ago. The problem existed before supercharging. The supercharger hides the issue pretty well, but i can tell it is still there.

How many miles? Ever clean the MAF and throttle body? Easy to do.

Was an ECU tune part of the SC package (2016+ Tacomas it is)? Where are you located?

Sorry for the slow response. I did clean the throttle body and maf sensor after posting. This seems to have cleared up the problem. It is still inherently lazy on throttle response compared to my 05 4runner with same powertrain, but much better than it was and at least it is consistant now. The truck now has 85k on it and the TB didn’t really look dirty but apparently it was dirty enough to cause inconsistant throttle reaponse. The supercharger did come with a tune. Truck runs excellent now. Thanks to everyone for the input! -North Carolina-
