A few additions to make me feel cool.
1/10 - 1/15, Larson has won the last two and Bell the three before that. If you have never watched it. It is a pretty cool event. Normally something north of 150 cars trying to qual.

Can't go! It's in Oklahoma and the Tacoma suspension will not support the females in that region.

That's why the cars are single seaters and the guys are driving so fast to get away.

I will definitely have to try to watch the chili bowl. Out here in Cali sometimes they don’t televise sports like that

510hp and a 6”, maybe 7” spoiler at Atlanta. They neuter this track every year either by switching dates to conflict with other regional events or by altering the racing package. Why is NASCAR afraid of Atlanta Speedway?!

Almost sounds like they're following the Australian "Supercar" racing series. That's like NASCAR, but they only run on road courses and they aren't afraid of "rubbin." It's Ford vs Chevy (Holden) down under.

Almirola retiring at season's end: https://www.jayski.com/2022/01/10/aric-almirola-to-retire-after-2022-season/
Preece signed as "SHR Reserve Driver." https://www.jayski.com/2022/01/06/stewart-haas-racing-hires-ryan-preece-as-reserve-driver/

So we'll likely see Preece in the #10 in 2023, provided sponsorship is available. The breakdown of how Tony and Gene run the teams is this:
#4 is the company car. Premier sponsor, premier driver. Current driver: Harvick, whose contract is up at the end of 2023.
#14 is Tony's team to do as he pleases. Tony's NHRA expansion keeps him relevant in motorsports and will provide more business connections.
#41 is Gene's team to do as he pleases. Run out of pocket. Likely a tax avoidance wash for his primary business, so it is technically funded in perpetuity.
#10 is the R&D "pay driver" team. This will become a passion project for Tony & Gene if they bring Preece onboard without sponsorship. Custer & Briscoe aren't going anywhere soon. I would be ELATED to see Preece in this car which would arguably be head and shoulders above the #37 car.

The next big move would be who will take over the #4 car when Harvick retires. Perhaps one of the three younger drivers who prooves their merit over the next two seasons. I am sure that is in play.

Oof. I didn't even think of where Deegan would land in all of this. She's officially a Ford/SHR development driver. I don't see them rushing her up, creating a Danica 2.0.
