Thanks! that sounds about right, they are pretty much a pretty colored border collie.

We've been looking at them for just over a year so we're fairly prepared for the work. This is our child cause we don't want human ones :p

I also had her zooming in the snow last night :mudding:

    hahah

The moment my wife told me she did'nt want kids, I made my appointment for snip snip.

I was snipped before we even got married. One of the best decision's I have ever made.

Kids are for some, but not me!

Had mine at 25 - in North Bay. I thought no one would do it, but the doc was super cool about it.
my favourite part of the whole thing was when the nurse asked how many kids I had and I said ZERO emphatically - I could see her brain short circuit for a second. She was not ready for that kind of reply. No one really is to be fair, it defies our programming. Best decision I’ve ever made lol

For sure. When it comes to Kids there all goo goo ga ga but unless it’s immaculate conception the conversation ends rather abruptly on how that came to be.

Other people having kids already affected my life enough. Everything is planned, there's always someone in a bad mood, they can't go out, no babysitter, etc. I can do anything I want without thinking twice. Same reason I don't have a dog.

Enjoy the sleepy puppy stage while its lasts. My aus shep x boarder collie is 1.2years old now and absolutely mental when she gets going
Super smart dog tho. Hoping to get her out on the trails this year.

Many people telling me to enjoy this very short puppy phase.... my sister has an aus/border, he is 9 and still insane

This one chews everything in sight, but the brains are crazy. She has almost learned to sit on command in not even 24 hours! (about ~75% success).

A recommendation, accompany hand signals with voice commands. They will learn both at the same time to the point where you only need to use hand signals.

Yep this for my dogs was really important. Helped a ton.

    :bananadead:

Once you have more than one, they learn from each other so it can get easier. :boink:

Can lololoolololol Getting 3 of them to do what you want for the 1st time is a bit of a struggle

Oh yeah, it’ll be over before you know it.
I recommend slow feed/puzzle type food bowls. Gives you a bit of time to relax while they figure it out and keeps them using their brains so tuckers them out too. Win-win lol

Im not sure if we got lucky or just gave her tons of cardboard to rip up because We barely had anything chewed that wasn't suppose to be. She still goes apeshit running around with an empty granola bar box lol

That's because idiots buy dogs for looks not considering what the dog was originally for.

My girlfriend and I were going to get one. Might still eventually. But knowing a few people with them and talking to breeders, they're not dogs to just sit around with, and they need to be exercised otherwise they'll destroy everything out of boredom.

They're working dogs and need to work. Whether it be actual herding or just doing agility training or something else. Have to give them something to challenge their incredible level of intelligence.

No different than a German Shepherd, Malinois, or border collie etc. Working dogs need to work.

Sadly have met too many at dog parks etc with Aussies that just complain about them being terrible when they are just clearly showing working dog behavior that isn't being redirected to an actual task to stimulate them.
Then they get abandoned or spend much of their life living in a crate.

yea, until they get into the dog union and the other "working dogs" chastise him for working
and then he becomes disgruntled and 20years later he's chastising the new working dogs coming in
and then........or sorry yea they need to work. lol.
