    Afternoon all:
Darn Kurt, looks like something that should be a somewhat simple project turned into a major one, glad you figured it out and gave us a detailed account about how you did it.

Welcome Hosee, fill up the cooler and pull up a chair on the porch.

Good to hear that Miss Debbies hand is doing better tandem, like you stated she probably should just baby it for awhile to let it heal properly.

:yay: snow tomorow, maybe my buddy can find a deer or at least some fresh tracks, slim pickings for him this year and we're running out of time! :(

I feel for ya about not doing your own work anymore. It sucks to have to sit and watch someone else do your job their way and add insult to injury, have to pay them to do it. I gotcha on seniority by 8 months, and never know whether I'll be able to get out of bed, let alone do anything productive.

68k on an '02? And I thought my '15 was low mileage at 60k!

I'd forget about the others telling you to fill the cooler. I doubt you'd draw flack by packing a hip flask...

A little something every chance we get.
First, @woodtickgreg - I didn't get to mess with the Bluetooth or the FM on the amp. Second, I didn't get to mowing either....

Well, what happened was the test drive didn't go very far, or very well. Second left turn about 1/2 mile from the house, on 142 - hard thump rattle, and I pull over and stop. I see lug nuts all over the road.

I walked home, and put the floor jack and such in the RAV. Might as well make it easy as I can. Lifting it up, I see at least 2 sheared studs, and one bent one. Not putting this wheel back on. Call my friend who does wrecker, but not in the shop, so I go over to the shop and get set up for a tow.

It made it about halfway before it fell off the wheel. So, he babied it into the drive way, and we used my floor jack to minimize the dragging.

Moving on to seeing what happened....

My feeling is that I did my final tighten sequence with the tire partly on the ground, and that gave me the impression I had it on and tight. I need to get me some lighter wheels and tires, because, honestly, they are a pain for me. So, they were probably tight, but not ON.
PITA to get the drum off the bent one.

I have all the part for repair tomorrow. Matter of getting the axle to move and let me have the studs. I do my best to keep retirement exciting! Just glad I never made it to highway speeds!

Too bad you are so far away. I have an extra drum that's already been turned that I'd donate to the project.
At least you know the shoes are good enough to run for a while.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!

Ouch, Kurt!! Glad you weren't moving too quickly when the wheel let loose. I'm interested in that amp, as weel. I need something in the house to drive the in-wall speakers we have - FM and tied to my phone to get Sirius. I don't need a ton of power - using a small shelf-top stereo/cd unit now but it's old and doesn't have Bluetooth.

About 2" of snow on the ground and still falling this morning. Might just get to fire up the new snowblower.

Mark: There are a lot of ways to add Bluetooth to an existing steno system. This is a low-cost solution from Amazon, if you have an extra input to the system. Today is an easy day with just guitar practice and light cleaning around the house. We had about 2" of snow last night, the roads look clear so I might go to the grocery store, LOL. Happy Friday all.

    Wow, glad you ok.
Doesn’t look like to bad a repair.
Did you get the tech fired for incompetence?
Cause that’s what people always say and try to do cause,
you know, it’s only putting a tire on and tightening down five lug nuts.
Must be a newbie that couldn’t get a real job.
So for sure he never tightened it down…

Thanks, Tom! The old system I have is not functioning at this point other than the FM so I need to replace it anyway.

Not very good reviews on that Pyle system. It seems Amazon is really pushing that line though.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Peoples! Still alive, and it's Friday Friday. Might not be a good afternoon to complete my wheel repair, as it might not break 50*. But tomorrow will be 70*, and jackstands don't care if I wait. Maybe I mow, like I was going to? Maybe I play with the amp?

So, the amp? Mark, I have a few of those little BlueTooth pucks, and they are a great alternative until the amp dies! Like ours appeared to. I don't know how well the FM works on the new Pyle, but we don't get very good FM here anyway. I will check that out today, as well as the BlueTooth pairing with the phone. I just ran the headphone jack of the Chromebook into the amps line inputs on the back, and that is working just fine.

Amazon reviews are all malcontents! You can check the reviews on higher price stuff, not much different, and most of the other options are just 100% China anyway - not just made in China. Everyone seems to expect $1k audiophile stuff for that price. I have some Pyle products in the house and truck. They are good bang for the buck products, and always work. Are they the best? No. Good price? Yes. With good speakers (or the right impedance), that little thing could blast me out of the garage, and I don't run it that loud. (Except when certain tunes come on!). Like I said, I will report on the FM and BT pairing later, but so far, money well spent.

And THANKS for the pep talk Mike! Operator error for sure, despite my best intentions to check my work.

Sheesh - 2 PM and it just broke 40! Mr. Sun said "NO!"

    @woodtickgreg @Devious6

If you get said Pyle, you won't find this in the instructions.
BlueTooth: set the input to BLUE. Turn on your device that will send it's signal, get into the BlueTooth section, and find Pyle. Took about 10 seconds to sync up. Did that with phone, repeated with Chromebook - No problem

FM (is weird, but). When you first turn it on, select FM. Push the PLAY/PAUSE button, and it will commence searching for signals, memorizing as it goes. With crummy reception here, it found 26 signals to preset. After that, you just use PREV and NEXT to select presets.
