Howdy Doug. My ol' rig's undercarriage is quietly doing battle with the yucky stuff in the garage....thanks to a 25 mile journey home yesterday. Thankfully she got a good soaking of rust inhibitor a couple of weeks ago

We’re slated for below-zero temps next week. About time to put the heating pad in the chicken coop. Poor little things o_O

    Morning folks :hattip:

Somehow I made it home last night unscathed. The 1"-3" turned into about 7". Driving home last night soon as I made my way back into PA it was apparent Penndot didn't do diddly squat as far as treatment or plowed the route I took. I followed a Camry last night out of the parking lot at work and knew it wasn't going to end well. Had PA tags and was suspicious they were going to take the same route. Seemed they were driving a little fast. Well they got a little squirly a couple times and the last time they sent it a little too hard into a telephone pole right infront of me, and blocked the road. I had to go around in someones yard. I left it in 4wd for the remainder of that road. Driving on the snow is fine, but there was no salt at all under it, so it was sketchy. Got to the end of that road onto a more main one thinking it would have been cleared off so off 4wd went. Yea, no. Me and the other vehicle infront of me proceeded to almost skid halfway into the intersection it was so icy and un-treated. Yea, back into 4wd for me. Yes, I could have done the whole thing in 2wd, but being short wheel-base it was helping to keep it a little more stable. They did treat the mountain a little bit more, but only the liquid pre-treat, no rock salt. An hour and almost half later I made it home. Commute normally is 40-45 minutes in clear weather...

Gas fireplace, but the house is holding around 50, so not too bad. Layers and blankets.
