Put my deposit down on it. It was at the dealership within three (3) weeks. I got lucky. The truck (color, model, everything) I was wanting had already been "allocated" to the dealership and no one had a deposit down on it. Again, I got lucky.

Right - I did get my guy to bring me some of the service department paper ones for the drive home.

I went ahead and ordered the Husky ones a few weeks ago...forgot to bring them with me to the dealership! I basically "ordered" this with zero add-ons...including floor-mats.

Put a $500 deposit down on Dec 31st 2021. Just got call from dealer that Army Green double cab 4x4 with tech package will be built on Feb 6th and should be at their place on Feb 11th 2022. They told me on Dec 31st it would take 45-60 days.. So we are both happy about the expected deliver date.

Our 17' came with the all weather mats, they suck lasted a year before the ends curled up and they catch your feet getting in and out, we bought Husky's and they have been great for 3 years now! Our new 22' has the all weather's again so I'll be getting front Husky's next winter.

    2021 production has stopped.
Yota build tool just lets you see what dealers have trucks closest to your build.

Just tried to place an order for a 2022 TRD Pro and was told there is a 10K fair market MSRP adjustment, one was allocated to local dealership and was about 48 days out, I didnt want any of the additional upgrades for the one scheduled to be built but would still pay 10K above MSRP, chip shortage BS

I hope no one actually supports these dealers charging over MSRP. 1-2 years from now things will be back to normal and you will lose every cent of that money, even on special edition versions.

This is an incredibly mass-produced vehicle and Toyota is significantly less affected by the chip shortage than other manufacturers. Toyota learned their lesson after Fukushima ruined their just-in-time supply chain, and came into this far more prepared.

Droid, I walked out of my local Toyota place when they had $5000 market adjustment on the proposal, The guy explained it to me in the parking lot as I was getting into my car to leave.. Got online and pretty much found it was common to charge the Market Adjustment at most Toyota places within 100 miles from my house... but a dealer 45 miles from my house did not have a market adjustment.. So I ordered a truck from them, trading in a Rav4 Adventure I got from them 3 years ago.. still paid MSRP though..

In my area of NJ, I haven't found a dealer yet that isn't charging FMA. The dealership I currently have an allocation with had one of the lowest, and at least was throwing in a few accessories to try to justify it. I think he was saying door sill protectors, mudguards, mats, and a pin stripe? As noted previously, I turned down the pin stripe and was offered some "ceramic paint protecting clear coat".

They called me back saying if no one puts a deposit down on it before it arrives they’ll remove the 10k markup and “give” it to me at MSRP

My dealer (Connecticut) charged me MSRP for my TRD Sport DCSB but said the undercoating and paint protection were "mandatory". I explained that I used to be a detailer at a dealership and there was no way I was paying for their crappy paint protection. Luckily they dropped it. But I'm still paying like $800 for undercoating. At least I'm getting something of value.

Dealer installed undercoating is typically rubberized, which actually encapsulates the rust & exacerbates its spread. So it may not be much of a value at all. You may want to ascertain exactly what product they use. Most of the folks here use Fluid Film or Cosmoline. Numerous threads on the topic.

Started looking in early December. Researched 12+ Dealers in my area, and settled on 3 who actually were willing to sell for MSRP and work with me. Had to put a deposit down at one, and they got an Army Green Trail Special Edition in today (allocation day), so I took it. So all in all, 2 allocation cycles to locate something (looking for TRD OR, but this is sweet, I'll take it), and the build date is 1-19. They said it's probably a month after that so late February. So all in all, will be nearly 3 months from start to finish.

So, I am a little new at this, never bought a new vehicle. Does the temp VIN on the dealer spec sheet work in the online lookup until the real VIN is assigned? I just tried the temp VIN and got an error but my truck built in mid Dec (per the dealer). Should the dealer have the real VIN once it is built? Excuse my ignorance...
