Boots or not??

CBI bolt on sliders. BSP color matched M1 Satoshi grill. BHLM. UWS low profile black powder coat crosover truckbox. Pioneer DVD/CD head unit - 4 channel amp - front mids & highs - 8" sub box.
    Okay so I have the 5100's on the way, front and rear. They do not come with the dust boots from what I have read.

    What does everyone think...should I get them or not?? Anyone with some pics showing what it looks like without from the side view would be very helpful.

    Bilstein 5100 adjustables, 2 inch top plate spacer, bilstein 5100 rears and 2 inch blocks. Flowmaster super 10 with dual 4 inch tips.
    i would say get them just because they help improve the longevity of the shock and protect the shock. they are only a couple bucks so why not protect your investment

    Mine came with the boots in the Toytec ULK. but, when I ordered them for my K5 a couple years ago, no boots, they were extra. I do have a set of spaares if you need them.

    They keep the shaft from getting nicked or pitted and ruining the seal to the body. They also hold water and mud if they get submerged. Make sure there is a drain hole, and remember to clean them out from time to time.

    Yes that is what I ordered....I thought I read somewhere they came with no boots. I guess maybe I mistook bushings for boots. I looked at so many diff places I must have confused myself....lol!!!:eek:

    Thanks for the offer John. I'll wait and see what I get. Good advice on the drain holes, I'll be sure to pop some in if none are there.

    Ditto with the No Bushings, but I'm guessing that your 2010 tacos bushings are ok and reusable. If you think not, order them up before your ready to do the job.

    how do you get the bushings out of the stock shocks? i have necer done any kind of suspension work so i dont really know what im doing lol

    I'm thinking using a press, or possibly a vise or clamp with sockets kinda like changing a u-joint. I've never done it myself, but I think either way would work.

    I'm sure I will be corrected if wrong.:D

    The bushings we are talking about are at the top of the front and rear shocks. It appears that they are included if the kit you purchased. Outlined in RED. If by chance you don't have them you can likely reuse the original ones that are on the OEM shocks. They are not the bushings in the eyelet at the bottom od the shocks. Those bushings are in place on the new Billies.

    Gotcha...That pic shows bushings but the DSM site lists without bushings in the description. They suggest the same as you did to use the factory ones.
    Tracking shows a Thursday delivery so I guess I will find out then.

    Dave, since your in Fla. I would expect that you will get around to the install before I do, please keep us posted to your progress and opinion concerning the installation. Have you decided to have a shop do the coils or will your take a shot at it?

    DSMS send shocks with boots, mine came with bushings too but your old ones should work if needed

    100%stock, except for the exhaust leak and custom windshield crack mod
    My 5125's came with em, im around alot of loose dirt and sand, i dont know if they really keep it out, but it makes me feel better about it for me.

    If all goes well and I receive all my items by Thursday, I am shooting for a Friday install. I decided to go ahead and let the shop that is putting the tires and wheels on do the 5100's also. They are an authorized Toyo tire dealer and have been in business since I can remember so I feel pretty comfortable with them doing the job. (I hope they don't disappoint)

    I will post updates and pics of before and after...hopefully soon:cool:
