Hey guys. I just picked up an 05 Tacoma (4cyl 4x4 access cab) and it seems like the ride is way stiffer than it should be. I can feel every little bump in the road, and even worse i can hear them rattling everything inside the cab. Its driving me nuts. I haven't owned a 2nd gen before so I can't say for sure if this is abnormal or not.

The truck has a 3" lift kit with blocks in the rear and spacers on top of the front strut. Also has total chaos UCA, and the correct front diff spacers and sway bar relocate. 275/65/17 General grabber apt at 34psi.
Front shocks/springs are "new" OEM. I suspect they were take-offs from another truck because I diddnt get a receipt for them with all the other paperwork that came with the truck. Is it possible they could have a heavier spring rate than what is meant for a 4cyl access cab? Or do they all have the same springs
Rear end also has new shocks but they seem to be pretty low end. No branding on them.

I have been looking at the ome 2" lift kit with the lowest spring rate for the coils and the "softer" valving option for the shocks. Would this be an improvement? I do a lot of driving down logging roads but never specifically for hardcore 4x4ing.

I have searched the forms quite a bit and havent found a good answer yet for this problem. Maybe I wasnt looking hard enough cause Im sure I am not the only one with this issue..
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The kit looks like a nice basic lift. Spring rates are what kill a ride. So pick the lower rate springs on the kit and you should be fine. Chances are that the springs you got were probably designed for much higher loads and it makes your truck ride like a buckboard.

Thank you, that's what I figured. I just wanted to make sure that the lift I linked would be a better ride quality.

I have seen lots of people say that spacer lifts do not affect ride quality, and lots of people that say they do..
