    2022 Lunar Rock TRD Sport
Hi all, just thought I'd finally post here. I had been waiting since October for my local dealer to get a Lunar Rock TRD (either) in stock with leather. Luckily my local Toyota dealer has refundable deposits on anything that isn't allocated yet.

So this week I decided to get serious and started widening my search. Found one and only one at a dealer 3 hours away that wasn't pre-sold (not sure how that's possible but it's mine now!) I contacted at least a dozen dealers around the Midwest who had them listed on their website inventory, and every single one except this one was already sold.

So it's supposed to come in next week on the 10th, but could be a few days early or late depending on delivery delays and weather. I'm excited.

Anyway, down to the serious business. I have a daughter with special needs and will need to occasionally put her non-powered wheelchair in the truck. We have always been just fine using SUVs and vans for this, but this truck is replacing my SUV, so for this reason I need a topper (primarily for the winter). It will also be used periodically to transport a couple bloodhounds. I'm leaning heavily towards the Softopper for three main reasons. It weighs less so I don't have to rig up any type of lift in the garage to remove and reinstall it. It folds out of the way quickly so I can still use the truck bed while it is installed. Lastly, it's much cheaper than most hardcaps seem to be.

I guess my main questions is: is there anything else I should consider? I have never used a truck cap before, and because of this inexperience I'm not sure if there might be some flaw I'm not seeing. The Softopper seems to check all of my boxes, especially ease of use.

Next would be, does anyone have any pictures of the Softopper colors on a Lunar Rock Tacoma? I'm sort of leaning for the tan, but also like the gray.

    Thanks everyone!

Welcome to TW and congrats on the new Taco. My nephew has a soft topper and loves it. I have a Leer hardtop. Another thing you might want to think about is the hardtop shells are taking anywhere from 3-6 months to come in. At least that’s what I last heard. Good luck on figuring out what you want and hopefully the truck shows up on the earlier timeframe they gave you.
