Where can I purchase a 1 piece drive shaft?

TRYING TO FIND A 1 PIECE DRIVE SHAFT FOR MY 2012 DBLCAB OFFROAD 67 1/2"L 2 5/8" FLANGE BOLTS APPEARS TOM WOODS ARE SOLD OUT AND CANT FIND ANYWHERE ELSE I COULD GET ONE FROM ANYONE HAVE ONE OR KNOW WHERE I CAN PURCHASE ONE

This place can build one but I don't know if they've built a one piece for the Tacoma. He's built a couple for me for hot rods.

Call around to local driveshaft specialty shops. Good ones have stock material and can build custom driveshafts

 

I get the one piece from a 4runner and cut and modify to fit. Works great and is a double Cardan joint in the front.

 

Rockauto sells them.

I TALKED TO A COUPLE OF THEM AND THEY DIDNT LIKE THE IDEA AND KEPT MAKING UP REASONS WHY THEY COUKLDNT MAKE ONE AND OR THAT IT WONT WORK AND NOT FEASIBLE DONT WANT A COMPANY THAT SAYS THAT MAKING ME ONE ANYWAY...

Guess you missed the part in original post where i said they were sold out at the moment.

 

You will find a nice shaft from 3G 4runner, rear. Double cardan and one piece, bolts right up to our trucks. Lengthen a bit and you’re golden.

How do i go about making it longer

 

you can get the same diameter tube and weld it, cutting off the original where the double cardan meets. I had a local place modify mine and rebalance for under $100. The tubing should be available at any place that carries Dana/spicer components.

 

Note to the OP, do not try this at home.

 

Yea thats not gunna happen

 

From my understanding, a Tom Woody shaft runs you about $700, if you get one to modify from a pick n pull not only will it be cheaper but it will be faster and you can have a couple of spares. I’ve collected around 4-5 of these driveshafts over the years and keep them around when an emergency strikes. Dented driveshaft are not an unexpected thing when wheeling in the rocks.
