What did you hate about it? Did you have an S55 car?

Nah, 2016 OG M2 so the N55. Purchased it after my beloved E46 M3 got totaled by a careless driver — luckily I bought the M2 when the market was softer in mid 2020 and sold it for a profit at the end of the year to Carvana.

In short, it sounded horrible especially in sport mode. The cold start routine was legitimately embarrassing with neighbors. The interior felt incredibly cheap compared to my other/previous BMWs. Sight lines from the drivers seat were really bad, felt like I was in a tiny submarine vs the E46 and my other older BMWs. Steering felt numb vs all my other (older) BMWs. Interior was also way too loud for that type of car, road noise was seriously dreadful during any road trip (the new Michelin PS4S I put on made zero difference). The auto rev matching on downshifts was the absolute dumbest shit I’ve ever experienced in a car — bought BimmerCode purely to code that out.

I could go on, but it was just a bad fit for me. IMO all the “M2 is the modern E46 M3 successor” talk couldn’t be more incorrect.

I agree with a lot of the above. I do think the competition is a much much better car than the OG N55 car. Ive driven both. It definitely is on the cheaper side as far as build quality, hated that at first but got over it. Give the comp a drive if you get a chance.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Even a 15k profit on the truck in one year makes giving up the cement grey hard. Can't get it for 2022
