Billy 5100's with eibach 3"coils and custom built rear leafs, brush guard and lights, sprayed in bedliner, camo interior, camo decals, new sound system, wet okole's, 265/75/16 tires, fog light mod, rear locker mod, deck plate mod
I know there have been alot of questions about this and yes I have done the search but want all 1st gen opinions on this. I am going to get a set of bilstein 5100's and set them at the highest setting with stock coils(my coils only have 70k on them so I figure they will be ok right?) and an aal for the rear. I got a set of american racing tactic's from a guy for $300 and they are 16x8 with +10mm offset. I was told that that is basically a 4" backspace. So I am having a hard time deciding on going with 265/75/16's or 285/75/16's. I dont really want to go with the 265's cuz I would like to have a bigger tire than that and wider too. How much rubbing/trimming will there be with 285's and this wheel. I do not want to have to trim or grind a bunch of stuff either. The tire Im looking at say on the specs that they are 33.2" tall and 11.4" wide. Post pics if ya got em too cuz I would like to see the difference between the 2 sizes. Thanks

i'm still stock but i plan on putting some billies on and some eibach coils... i've heard that 285/75/16 will rub if you have only a 2.5 inch lift. so you'll probably have to trim a lot:(

Anybody? Not much info yet. How is it that some guys have no problems and others have to cut out a bunch?

because of different tire companies. Say you have a 285/75 toyo open country and a 285/75 BFG At. these 2 tires will differ in size because they are made by two different companies. I have a true 3 inch lift, the same as what your putting up front plus I added a rev tec spacer to get a true three inches and I have 285/75/16 yoko geolanders on some 09 trd wheels with 1.25in spacers and I only rub at full lock pulling in and out of my driveway and I didnt cut, hammer, or bend anything. Im ditching the spacers as soon as I get the $$ up for some trd fj wheels.
