Some years were all silver and some had black accents. I had the all silver on my 2016. Have the black accent ones on my 2008.

IDK. Look the same to me just in low light. I think it is just the camera. Some people get them black powder coated. Only he can answer that.

Do our trucks not have the rear load proportioning valve for the brakes? I built a bracket to correct the alignment after a lift and I can’t find the arm. I keep warping front rotors and I’m not hard on my brakes...

Installed some "rock" lights. Initial thought was to utilize them more like a step light than a tire illuminator. Screwed directly into the sliders. Hope they last a bit before getting ripped off

I did a Google search and nothing came up for 2012 Tacoma.

    Maybe the ABS System?

Are you thinking the rear brakes aren't working or?

That’s what I was finding also but didn’t know if I was being dumb. And ABS seems to work fine, same with the electric lsd. When I bought the truck at 70k miles the front rotors were warped so I replaced with oem rotors and trd pads. Then at around 100k they started warping again so I got the rotors turned sanded down the pads and re bedded them. Now at 113k front rotors are warped again. Truck doesn’t pull one way or the other.

Yikes. Maybe the dust shield is bent and not allowing proper cooling? Are your wheels steelies with no holes? My truck has the cheapest 4Runner rotors I could find on eBay and I haven't had any problems.

I’ll check out the dust shields but they seemed fine last time I was up there. I’ve got the sema 4runner wheels. Only added weight is a front winch plate/winch and a canopy. I do tow quite a bit but I’ve got a really nice trailer brake set up.

Unfortunately this is a Tacoma thing. Pretty common. I go thru a set of rotors every 7-10k miles. It’s not crazy but I do feel a pulsating when I brake.

what I do, is buy the “gold” brake rotors and pads from auto zone. Now I can exchange them for free for 3 years.

What a pain in the ass. I might look into the 03-07 4runner sport upgrade.

That’s crazy. I just had my front pads replaced and rotors turned for the first time at 155k and almost 12 years old. DD, no towing and hardly off-road.

I don't know, I tow boats several times a week and some of them are 6,000+ pounds but haven't warped a rotor yet. Plus my truck has a Tundra booster and MC which puts even more pressure on the brakes.

It's obvious to me it's not your wheel choice and I doubt it's the shields but I guess it could be possible.

I thought about your situation last night. If something weird like a bent spindle/knuckle existed it would have to exist on both sides of your trucks front end.

What brand is your rotors? Brand of calipers? What brake pad material are you running?

For reference my rotors and calipers are cheap AF eBay items with cheap AF ceramic pads. All 4Runner items on the front end.

The 4Runner rotors are approximately 3/4" larger in diameter.

I'd love to disagree with you but since most of my trucks brakes aren't Tacoma then maybe you're onto something.

Toyota rotors, calipers, and TRD pads. All factory Tacoma stuff. The brakes stop me good I’ve never had a complaint about that. Just the warping. Would that tundra master work on my wife’s 4runner I wonder? She’s got the electric assist garbage and the pump is getting weak.
