Grackles or starlings (or both), they migrate in flocks of thousands or even hundreds of thousands. About two weeks ago I was watching TV and heard a weird "whooshing" noise outside like a distant waterfall or something. It was migrating grackles and/or starlings flying maybe 30 feet over the house. I watched them fly over for a full 5+ minutes straight, it was very cool to witness. The flock had to have been over a mile long if not more. I've seen them land in forested areas and fields in years past and it sounds crazy, almost like electricity.

Try going 2-3 days without eating anything, and I will bet you any amount, that you will eat "ANYTHING" How am I so sure of this?? I (and many others) that have gone through real military survival training, usually have to go days without much if any food. So when you get really - really hungry one's pickiness towards what you are eating goes AWAY.
I have not tried the "rocky mountain oysters, but I would sure try them if I was offered. BTW -that Olean "testicle festival" is only about 24 miles from me, when they hold it. Now getting the wife to go along would be impossible -thats another story

Years ago, My dad owned a small neighborhood grocery store with a small meat counter and butcher shop. Every now and then mom would cook up some beef tongue or beef brains Dad would bring home -they were not too bad. It's all in how things are prepped and cooked. I probably had "rocky mountain oysters back then without being told!?

My old man liked beef tongue. I couldn't hack it. I used to slip it to our dog under the table.

I decided long ago that there are things that are just not edible. Testicles and guts fall into that category.

I agree, but then again, I really don't know what's been in some of the hot dogs, bratwurst, and cheap burger meat I've eaten over the years.

I've had beef tongue. I wouldn't go out my way to get it, but I wouldn't turn it away either.

Yup. That's the reason I avoid processed foods as much as possible but I'll turn a blind eye for a good Bratwurst.

Grackles are hilarious when you’re not affected by them. I’ve seen quarter million bird flocks in San Antonio swoop into an H-E-B parking lot and people fall over from vertigo. The whole sky will look like it’s boiling with them.

    And then they start shitting…

I feel that way about starlings. Just kill the invasive pests.

I want a BB gun, but in a CWIS version.

Does Crosman or Daisy make one of those, or do I need one of those fancy Hungarian jobs?

I imagine myself killing starlings kind of like the kid in the Christmas Story and his Red Rider BB gun. Fortunately for the starlings in my area, people would FREAK THE FUCK OUT if I started shooting them in my back yard.
