That’s the deal my Wife snagged me for Christmas. I used it last week helping a friend do an ECGS bushing. It’s definitely not the M18 gen3 stubby but its nice for running stuff back in before torquing them to spec. It was running things in around 70# after a couple quick hard hits. I wasn’t letting it eat just enough to throw the torque wrench on.

    4 run, 2 don't
    Makes sense!

I always look for reasons to buy stuff I don't need; my M18 mid-torque has more than exceeded my needs.

An M12 stubby 1/2" would be perfect for trails though.

Are you saying the gen3 is better? Because the M18 has just slightly more working torque than the M12. With the size/weight of the stubby I’d give it the nod over the bigger bulkier M18.

Sorry should add that this is with the 4.0/6.0 M12 battery.

Maybe I need to use it a bit more and see if I fall in love with it. I really like my M18 3/8. I pulled my transmission twice and put a clutch in a buddy’s Taco. I bought the hi torque right before the first go around to get my lawn mower blades swapped out on the deck. I had a 60” cheater and ratchet strapped the deck to my work bench and broke my breaker bar that was the tipping point to buy it. I pulled my transmission using it and felt like Popeye from the weight. Second go around I bought the gen 3 and was surprised how much it could do. Doing my buddy’s clutch I bought the m12 ratchet to get at all the 10mm bolts for the wiring harness. They all have their time and place. The gen 3 struggled to get the top bolts on the bell housing with all the extensions hi torque didn’t care.

Got some home improvement coming up, decided to replace an old saw with a new one. Didn't really want the drill or impact, but the price was worth it for the extra batteries...

I've got the 1/2" high-torque (that is a F***ing beast!), M12 Stubby, and the M12 Right Angle... I actually gave away all of my pneumatic stuff except for the air hammers....

Y'all keep singing the praises of the stubby... but what bout... THE CHODE???:rofl::rofl:

    56GL10_AS01.jpg

But on the real: I kind of want the stubby "just 'cus" . . . but I've got the 1/2" high torque for heavy hitting and the m18 surge for daily driving... so hard for me to justify the expenditure on the stubby. They do look wicked cool, though! :D

The stubby is a good addition to the arsenal. The high-torque is a bit big for a lot of routine chores, like lug nuts, and suspension work. The stubby is perfect there.
