Framing 98% complete. Got plenty of room for a stacked washer and dryer at the end of the hall, and a second small closet for the bedroom behind it.

    Next will be plumbing.

Roofers were also here today, as the fix and flip people thought it was OK to just throw new shingles on top of this rotten decking that was a result of bad flashing around the chimney.
    IMG_20220108_120726139.jpg

Cant even tell it was patched. New shingles are an exact match.

Pretty productive day today. Also pretty expensive.

I started with 3 weeks payed then after 10 years I got another week. Plus you can carry over 40 from the previous year. At 15 years I'll get another 40 and I'll be at 200hrs PTO. I hate taking more than a week off though cause I need to stay busy or I'll get too comfortable not working.

Its the most useful space on the property imo. As it serves as a buffer between you and the shitheads that live nearby.

Yeah, I couldn't imagine having too much time off.

I'm glad I started school soon after I quit my job...I already have a bad case of the 'I don't wanna's' regarding my 4R :anonymous:

Cant have everything in life I guess. My backyard is not quite a quarter acre so Ive got decent space between me and the neighbors.

And the 200 townhomes going up 100 yards behind the property line.

Big RIP. I looked at a property with a decent sized lot but it was backed up onto about 40 acres of dirt and I just knew a Walmart would end up there one day.

I live out here because I'm not down with the whole neighborhood thing. One maybe two in a mile sounds livable

I was plotting a route for that as well. 12+ hour drive isn't too bad. I just don't want to get stuck on 395 in some shit storm.

I did 395 a few weeks ago, it was pretty icy through the high desert in Oregon near John Day

I bought this knowing what was gonna happen back there. Theres enough of a buffer between me and the construction that it shouldnt be too much of a problem.
Not too many homes like that out here without being insanely far from the city. Im on a half acre and thats kinda rare for where Im at.

Ya show me where to get acreage without a 1 hour+ commute in AZ under $500k. You can't.

Steady month of low 50's so hopefully I can get something planned in a couple weeks if it's still available by then.
